Yeah from what I've heard light damage is the best kind of elemental damage since most enemy's and bosses don't resist it. I've also heard that the level 3 attack on the staves have a really good DOT affect but the problem eith that in a speedrun is getting the staves and leveling them up. Supposedly the hands are the .ost versatile of the catalysts but they deal the least amount of damage.
Oh yeah you're right, that's definitely something I'll look into. And im not really sure tbh, I kinda stuck with the grave until I got the tomahawk and I've been using the OTX cannon thing in my playthrough but from what I could tell the cubes are the best for dps because of some of their later abilities and in Impulse's seemed especially good because it staggered bosses so often. I'll definitely try and look into which ones are best and easiest to get though.
That makes sense to me, im fine with either way though. And yeah i was doing some reaserch on the weapons, it looks like a decent amount could be viable but a bit out of the way. I'm not sure about ranged weapons though, from the quick reaserch I did it looked like actually using one of the cubes and the boss weapon for nemundas could be very good but idk how quick you could get that. I also haven't actually tested this theory or much of the other weapons.
I think that's definitely a good idea, I'm not sure how much it'd actually end up sticking to using your run as a base though, mainly because of the fact that you can get most of the credentials you need from bosses. For example, since the Transporter gives you the port isodurn credential I wonder if it'd be quicker to just pick it up from him then using the hidden room in the beginning, but obviously that's what routing is for.
Also, for the Sentient fight should we make its so you have to fight the Prodigal Spawn as well as the Sentient or should it not matter?
Mhmm, I was planning on routing and running it, though I am fairly new to routing and running so any help from anyone is welcome. I really wish this game was getting more attention than it currently is.
I was wondering why we don't have an All bosses glitchless catagory to coincide with the Glitchless category. Ithink it makes sense to have both, but if I'm missing something here feel free to enlighten me.
