like shiken stated, you are able to use any readable music formate that can be played using live split (personally i use .mp3s but i believe .wav works just as fine as well.)
i speedrun star fox 64, so i use the victory theme for when i complete a new personal best which can be changed in a similar fashion as shiken said.
you can also adjust sound effects for splits if youre ahead of time, below time, etc. etc.
usually if i apply new sound affects, i sorta test them out and work around with them before saving them into a proper layout, if you want an example you can look at some of my personal bests and hear the sound effects for each split utilized.
my only other suggestion is speaking with the live split devs if you happen to have any more troubles.

most games do not require a timer or really high quality recordings either. as long as you can visually see the game and hear it, then thats all that matters so long as there isnt anything obscuring the footage
as for a timer or splits, you can do without or you can do what you suggested and edit them in together, there is no proper way of setting things up, just there is a proper way of speedrunning a particular game based on the communities guidelines and rulings.

my suggestion about running or finding a game is picking up a game that is rememberable and a game youre comfortable playing for several hours on end.
this includes the game being able to be streamed/recorded easily and a comfortable controller to use. it can be quite difficult playing a game you like, but the controller is not comfortable or vice versa.

never said to use pre-made code, i was stating i like a few features it has.. i was already well aware that xenforo now isnt a very well renowned program as it used to be.
im sure someone has mentioned this at some point in this massive string of messages on this thread.
im a fan of the program xenforo, its a very advanced and professional forum building program used to well, build forums.
two features i really liked from xenforo was the ability to have a customized rating system for messages and posts, like, dislike, heart, laughing faces, informative or agree and or disagree etc. etc.
another feature was every user had their own profile page where they can add an about information, what their hobbies are, whether or not they have a birthday, gender, and even personalized profile posts similar to other social media platforms.
of course, speedrun.com intention and purpose was never made for that, but i feel like it would give the site more personality and character.
plus, everyones profiles would feel more unique and personified rather than what we have now where its a list of runs and contact information links.
otherwise, i enjoy the site for what it is.

like those said before me in this thread, the ruling is usually based on the games community and whatever catagories they offer. specifically as long as they follow the official speedrun.com guidelines and any other terms that are provided.
some catagories allow new save files being loaded during a run and loading another run for rng sake or some other reason. it depends on the game, how it was programed, etc. my suggestion would be to ask the community and see what they think, and what the rules are for the basis of what youre trying to accomplish.
as for cheat%, thats a very rare occurrence and even so doesnt seem very coherent, as cheat% could be define or labeled just about anything. its too broad to really be described accuratly so many boards usually just dont dwell into that.
this is a speedrunning website, so having cheat codes defeat the purpose of beating the game as fast as possible using whatever the game can be abused arbitrarily and humanly capable of doing so.

normally for games it comes down whether or not they have a community to rely on, otherwise the game falls flat and lost with no potential found. my only suggestion is probably formulating strategies on your own, and hope that one day the wr holder will be willing to help and broaden the games information.
your series remind me of gamecenter cx, pretty notable japanese gaming show if you ever get a chance to watch it, pretty interesting but yes welcome to the community we hope you enjoy your stay :)

if you strictly are only doing video recording i would recommend recording at the original resolution the game is meant to be displayed or record no higher than 720p to one again prevent your computer from having hours and gigabytes full of recorded footage that goes unused.
gopros typically do not work really well for video footage where youre sitting down or setting up a scene. depending on what kind of gopro youre using theyre mostly meant for 'action' as stated. so if youre not actively moving a lot, such as a sport, or swimming, or climbing etc.. the 'eye-fish' like lens will make it appear really awkward?
if you want something cheap and effective a small point and shoot would work fine, but you could also opt into a dslr if you have more money to spend. a good setup for vlogs or blogging with live footage or post edited footage could be a simple point and shoot that records around 720p or 1080p and an adjustable tripod.
i usually recommend people buy something small before they dump a large amount of money into something only to use it for a short while, youd be surprised how many people do this. however, if youre confident in your purchase then have at it. heres a list of cameras i have used and what i would personally recommend for you:
point and shoot: sony cyber-shot DSC-W800 digital camera point and shoot: canon powershot SX740 camcorder: canon vixia hf R800 camcorder dslr: canon eos rebel t7i
please keep in mind when purchasing a camera that the more you pay the quality only goes up a tiny bit, if any at all, the best quality you can get is from a dslr with a megapixel 50-60~ approx. that being around the 2,000-3,000 usd range.. even so that quality is just the barely noticeable and could go under appreciated. my recommendation is work with your budget and find something that works for you.
