Hello everyone!
As you may or may not have noticed, there has been a revamp of the leaderboard. Instead of having early abilities as a category, the mods have decided that there should be an overarching category that covers any early preparations made for a run. (I.E. If you use abilities OR kill any bots before the timer begins.) This ensures that all runs can be judged fairly and that the rules for each category are clear.
As a result of this change, the new categories you will see on the leaderboard follow these guidelines:
- 'Early Abilities' is no longer a category to be ran, as it has been merged with another category.
- No Prep: If you start the run without using early abilities or pre-firing on the bots, your run will fall under this 'No Prep' sub-category.
- Early Prep: If you use any abilities, kill any bots, or perform any action that can be perceived as early preparation (excluding buying weapons and moving around), then your run would fall under the 'Early Prep' sub-category.
Next up, I would like to take a moment to touch on the topic of Streamable links. We've had a few run submissions that use Streamable links as the video link. After some information was given to us by the Speedrun CM Meta, we learned that there is actually an issue with using Streamable if you do not have a paid version of the program. In reference to our run rules: "If you are using Streamable to upload your runs, please confirm to us that you have the paid subscription to Streamable - without it, your video is deleted from their database after 90 days and at that point, will be subject to being removed from our leaderboard." With that being said, if you do not have a paid subscription to Streamable, please refrain from using it as your video link for your submission.
Additionally, we now have a suggestion bot in the Valorant SR Discord! ( https://discord.com/Vwc7jzHbTQ ) Feel free to come leave your suggestions for anything you feel could better our SR Community!
Saving the best news for last: let's all give a huge congratulations to @Gurv for being our newest Verifier! We're so glad to have you, and we know you'll make us proud!
Hi Smaugsbreath, I personally don't think the infinite ammo category should go. Even if all the runs submitted so far may not have required a gun reload, that doesn't mean future runs won't. Having to reload, if necessary would in fact affect the run time, especially if the runner was intending to kill all the enemies.
I think this is a good idea. It would bring the FtF speedrunning community together for discussion. I don't see why this shouldn't happen. Great idea, Obitual!
Hello! This is my way I guess of asking if Jailbreak needs anymore mods. If so, I’m definitely down to help out. Thanks (:
First of all I just wanna say I <3 y'all and because I do, I'm gonna let the fact that two of you misspelled my name slide. (I'm not actually mad I'm just glad no one called me GrassGoyle)
Anywho, 1. I'm all for having more player slots for submissions. It would feel nice to have a good run, then submit it; all to see everyone's name on that entry. Of course, alterations would probably have to occur to ensure fairness. I don't really see major issues arising other than if the group you were with got split up by the beast and had to go to separate exits. All in all, I think it is a very good idea.

If not in multiplayer, I really think different player amount categories should be implemented for the beast. I understand skill is a large determinant for the outcome of the round, but when you have 4 people to chase vs someone else having 1, it kind of becomes a matter of luck and spawn location. I think it should be more set up to showcase skill, and more categories would definitely help to do so.

I'm sort of indifferent to different map categories. While I personally believe each map has it's own difficulty, it's not a very important factor. It would be cool though if you could attain multiple runs on multiple maps, but as stated already, not a huge deal.
I really think it would be nice. I mean if in the multiplayer section, you inform the people you want in the run to focus, the strangers are just kind of there. I like the idea of being able to have multiple participants on the leaderboard.
