Of course, I object...but seems I'll be overruled anyway. Guess I'll stick to Level runs now.
Again, you have five level runs that perfectly match what you are looking for. They've even more easily accessible for people than the Full Game Run is.
I guess we just have an irreconcilable difference of opinion. I don't think a full game run should ever be a sum of IGT, and I don't think modded hardware should be allowed for a RTA run. And I don't think the mods would particularly enjoy going back and retiming the 18 runs that are already up here. But I'll leave that up to them.
@kyletx500 you don't have to unlock level 5 in Thrash Mode. You just set the level to 5 in the Restroom area. Go to Player Level and select Level 5. That's it.
If you to go IGT in Full Game runs, then you can take a break whenever you want. Finish The Peninsula, let the cut scenses loop for an hour while you get lunch, then come back and play Napa Valley. That's hardly a "speedrun".
Most of my other runs are on Wii, where USB Loaders are generally banned because of load times giving people that mod their systems an unfair advantage.

But I too will respect whatever decision is made. If USB Loaders are allowed, then I'll probably just stick to level runs going forward.
Navigating the menus is part of the run, is there IGT for that?
I don't have a load time "advantage". I have a normal 3DO. If this matters that much to you, then please get one of your own.
And if you really want to compete with IGT, why not do some level runs? Those are all IGT. Would be great to have someone around to help me push those times down.
I run Wii games on a WiiU, so I would think that you should be allowed to run PS games on a PS2, since it's officially supported by the console.
In case you haven't noticed, we have a few IL runs now. Check it out!
I see no rules against posting simply because of a post's date, and it would be simple enough to auto-close threads after X number of days if such a thing is desired, so I still think such post shaming is uncalled for.
Since this is active now...what is everyone's problem with "necroposting"? Especially with posts that are still perfectly relevent today?
Hi. Can somebody please explain what is happening with my Bowling Max 2500 run?
I got the ranking up to 2498, bowled a perfect game, then it moved to 2499. "Pretty stingy", I think, but okay, one more perfect game to go. I bowled a perfect game, and...the score stayed at 2499. I then bowled another perfect game, still 2499. One more perfect game...still 2499. At this point I gave up trying to get to 2500.
This didn't happen in the run posted above. The score went from 2498 to 2500 on the final perfect game.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe the Japanese system only goes to 2499?
In any event, I have proved that I achieved the max ranking I can possibly achieve, to the point where even perfect games don't improve it. So may I submit it as a run?
Thinking about it a little more, I don't see why pausing the game should in itself a disqualifying factor. There's a punishment for that built in: more time added to the run.
Since it's easy to tell when the game is paused, I think it would be sufficient to say that run time equals in game time plus total time paused.
Thanks for the update. Not allowing pausing seems reasonable to me.
I hope more people discover Road Rash. It's really a great game...easy to learn, but hard to master.
Here's what I found on the internet:
Assuming you have the program/executable:
- Right click on the Road Rash exe file and select "Troubleshoot compatibility". Windows will help configure it automatically for you
- If it doesnt work, then right click, go to properties then the compatibility tab and select "Run this program in compatibility for" and select the one that could work best for you
Let us know how that works. Personally, I prefer playing it on a 3DO. I have a bunch of times that I hope will be appearing soon.
The Level 1 Category rules seem a bit vague:
- Play in Thrash Mode
- Run starts when you hit the button to start any chosen track from Level 1 tracks.
- Run ends when you qualify for the last track in Level 1 (by crossing the finish line).
That makes it sound like I only have to qualify on the last track, and just exit out of every other track as quickly as possible. Surely that's not valid?
I have this game for 3DO, but I have no idea what the "Tournament" here is supposed to be.
There's only three courses to race on, and the only thing to do is either race for time or race against the "X-Man".
Do we need a separate category for 3DO?
