For anyone that doesn't know, we have a Monkey Ball Discord server for the community. If you have anything to say it is best to ask someone there, rather than in these forums, as they aren't regularly checked by moderators.
We also have a Discord primarily for all of the less popular Monkey Ball games. This server isn't very active, and there are very few people in it, but join if you wish.
If you have any questions about the Discord server(s) please ask them in the series forum.
I hate to be a spoiler of fun, but can we please keep threads related to Monkey Ball and not filled with spam / memes.
So far Monkey Race, Boat and Golf has been added. If you want any more minigames added, we will when we have at least one active runner of them. The best way to send a moderator your run is via the community discord server. https://discord.gg/vHbp22Q
Update: Since we've adjusted the leaderboards slightly so that it allows us to add miscellaneous categories without the leaderboards becoming cluttered, we have added the golf minigame as a category. Have fun!
@Deln Series mods can add new games, as long as the game is part of the existing series.
The admin approves the game series, series mods then add games to the series.
Can I be made a moderator of the Hello Kitty series? I requested to get 2 games (Hello Kitty Kruisers and Hello Kitty and Sanrio Friends Racing) added about a week ago, and have got no response from the current lone series mod. I've tried contacting him via twitter and twitch also but still haven't got any response.
Update: I got a reply on twitter. The bloke doesn't even think you can add a game to a series as a series mod.
Can I get a name change to "Jezs"?

For Super Monkey Ball 1 it doesn't matter whether you are using PAL/NTSC. There are very few differences and it only effects the speedrun by 1 second at most and that's only in Expert/Master. The world record used to be held on a PAL copy, so there is no need to emulate the NTSC version at all.
There has been a lot of controversy about ISO loaders in the past. Although it only really had an effect on the loading times, which aren't very crucial in this game as there are very few loads, and all of which aren't very long. This didn't stop people complaining about it though, and it was mainly discussed about Super Monkey Ball 2, due to story mode having a lot of loads. Eventually it was decided to just ban ISO loader runs completely because of the faster loading times.
Emulators have been banned because the emulators do not accurately run the game as it is on console.
Sorry for the late response, I don't know if anyone else in the SMB community even knows that these forums exist. Currently we have no intention of tracking times for the golf minigame as we believe it would clutter the current leaderboard, but if it becomes more popular and there is a higher demand for it then we will consider the addition. Sorry about that.
The 100% category actually only gets 70.22965096% of the 142,390,000 G. because that is what's required to get a Rank A at the end of the game. If you click the misc. categories in the top right of our leaderboards you can find a Max% category which gets all 142,390,000 G. and currently only has one runner.
When I first added the categories I named what is currently "Any% (Out of Bounds)" to just "Any%" and what is currently "Any%" to "Any% (No Out of Bounds)" which is correct, however since then other leaderboard moderators have changed it to be incorrect and I don't want to edit it again without discussing it with members of the community beforehand.
I was thinking about doing Ronin first but I honestly am not chuffed. If you make a pastebin or a notepad.cc of route notes that would be very helpful.
I'm working on routing some missions for a cheats% run. Here's what I got for Alien "Auto"topsy Part I. Perhaps we shoud make a new thread for cheats% strats?
What to do: Begin the mission as normal, collect the map and get to your vehicle as fast as possible. Once you have the nuclear waste attached to your vehicle use the "Press horn to jump" cheat (left left left right) to get out of bounds. Then turn left and start driving towards where the school would be. After a while your mini-map will adjust and the blue circle indicating where to go will have changed positions. Head towards that. Once far enough you will see a blue marker ahead of you, once you see that blue marker reset your car. Then if you turn around you will see the unidentified flying object, and drive into it to end the mission. Whilst doing that run over to Snake who will be below you, while you're stood on an invisible floor. If you kick Snake it is likely he will rise up to slightly higher than the level you are on and you will be able to speak to him and start the next mission. The kicking Snake trick doesn't always work but for the most part it seems to.
NOTE: Be careful driving around and / or heading to the area with the unidentified flying object whilst you have nuclear waste attached to your car since there are a lot of invisible walls around the area, since you are not out of bounds, you are just in an unloaded part of the map.
Yeah it's NG. So when do you think you'll have a video of a run because I want to start running ASAP!!!
If you could just make a video of a run whether it's good or bad I'm not chuffed, I'd just like a route to learn and run, have a bit of something to do when I'm bored. :)
