Interesting, could do maybe. Do you have runs you could give as an example of these?
You are correct, but since the game isn't optimised yet deathless and ILs still make sense. ILs more so since perfecting a level gives us an idea of potential time save in full game runs, plus any strategy or glitch discoveries would be more likely executed in IL runs before full game. So I'm happy to delete deathless since you do make a good point, but ILs I draw the line at.
P.S. this leaderboard was inspired by the League of Evil board since I find the games similar, and that seems to work.
The game runs too slowly for this to be accepted as a non-TAS run, however there is no TAS category for 50% so we have a dilemma and cannot verify the run. What do you suggest Haydi0?
Hi, You may be wondering why the leaderboard has changed a little and is missing runs. Unfortunately, the leaderboard was deleted by site mods and cannot be restored. We therefore had to create a new leaderboard from scratch. While we are hoping to restore most of the original runs thanks to archives, this will take a long time (especially as it is currently the holidays). I encourage everyone who had runs previously to resubmit them as this will make things a lot easier for us.
Thanks, Gave2Haze
You can play it with flashpoint still, or find an .swf file in the guides section of this leaderboard
Would you be able to look at futu's TAS and estimate how much time could be saved from her run also? Seeing as it's very close to 3:30
Try to buy the platform first thing in a new game, if it still happens then idk
bit of a meme category, i'm not sure it can even be done. When in game, press 4 on your keyboard, you will look at a rabbit
I meant it more that they aren't active in the community at all, and it's more I want them to be remembered them they do.
@Liv On the Goime 500 page, you'll see fixylol is a verifier. He doesn't actually ever use the role, but basically he created the leaderboards and was involved early on before it blew up in popularity, but is no longer involved in the community. I leave him as a verifier because he created the board and I feel its not fair to remove him and exclude him from the community lest he ever return. Another example would be the game's dev, who is active but not in the game community anymore. That being said, I mainly have had this idea for fixylol who has played a part in the development of the community and who I think should be immortalised or rewarded as such, if you see what I mean.
Any chances on a role below verifier being created with little to no power just to honour community members? Okay alright guys I know most of you won't find it useful or anything and the dev team will be annoyed as they have more important things to do, but can you at least give me your thoughts on the matter?
@Habreno Could you add Chompster (https://www.speedrun.com/chompster) to the Carelics series (https://www.speedrun.com/carelics)?
Thanks.
@Habreno Here are the images: https://imgur.com/a/YZ4BoBl. Thanks for helping out! If we were to want RTA categories for running the games back to back, I imagine that would be requested as a category extension leaderboard?
@Liv you mean to say 'may need to be redone in 2 years'? And thanks :)
@Habreno thanks ever so much! Discord invite would be http://discord.gg/6gGQqA3 and site page is http://htwins.net/. I will ask for a icon and logo on the discord. As for colours, I think #5B6DA7 for the panel, #cccfd4 for the panel border, #ebeff5 for the background and #f7d638 for everything else (like this: https://imgur.com/AngQOB7).
@MeesterTweester its likely because its not a series per se but a collection of games by the same dev
@Habreno sorry for the late reply. I know this is not where you request, I just wanted to gauge whether mods like you would agree with me or not before I submitted a request. By more details, not sure what you mean, but here's my point. The dev, Carykh, made these games in flash, and they have similar ideas and art, and he posted them on his site HTwins.net. His brother helped out in some of them. There has been a community around carykh for a while, as he is also a YouTuber, and small communities formed around his games. This is why Goime 500 is so popular, being one of the largest flash games on the site. Before they even were on speedrun.com, people from the community (called HTC - htwins central) often played the games, and referred to them as 'Carelics', a portmanteau of 'Cary' and 'relics'. Cary himself has posted videos on his channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/carykh/search?query=carelics) of the games, most of which aren't on speedrun.com. As more of them have been speedrun and added to speedrun.com (most recently Racing Extreme), I thought it would make sense to add them all in a singular series, as that is how people in the community treat them. I tried this a year ago but was rejected (There were less carelic games on the site back then). I think more and more of his games will be speedran and added to the site over time, so it makes sense to have a series. Also, up to this point, i have been made mod on the boards of the games as a sort of workaround, but that means I am the central pillar and places a lot of responsibility etc. on my end, which I think is unfair, especially as I might not be the mod holding everything together forever. Also, its not good to rely on one person for everything. Additionally, we have one discord server for all the games in the series (as well as a few fangames) so the community is already all in one place (Goime 500 also has its own seperate server as it is so big). Also, there are already series' like the Nitrome series, where all the games are made by the same dev but are not part of the same universe, so there is a precedent.
The games (on speedrun.com right now) are:
- Goime 500
- BFDIA 5b
- Tidepool
- Racing Extreme
There has also been talk of adding more games such as Chompster, as people have run them already. Finally, I wanted to say thanks for your help, sorry it was such a long read, but I truly think it would make things much easier to have them all in one series. I also understand I still have to request a series after this, but I really appreciate your feedback as it would be very helpful in formulating that request, and it's not something you have to do. Thanks!
