If you still want to run this game: Learn most of the intermediate and expert strats from this guide: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RIltjNkGH3fO3Cw3o5Eq4XqCKjanO2mrmgC8LzyFqdU/edit#gid=65917244 and do no resets till the point where you are able to get runs going semi-consistently. And when you get a somewhat decent time (sub 5:30ish) you can start grinding

Another way to improve is to do IL's with RTA strats and focus on a mix of consistency and speed.

Man you should really run a game like OoT, MM, SM64 or Portal to get a better understanding of what a glitch is. The cube is not supposed to act the way it is acting, ( http://www.speedrun.com/Polarity/thread/8m4ai ) therefore it is a programming error and therefore a glitch. Just restart the level when this happens and you are fine.

You can't use the "glitch version" because the cube clips inside the character and pushes it out. So if you travel 300 units in 1 frame because the cube pushes you outside the game will think "hey fam, if I traveled 300 units in 1 frame i need to go super fast, rite?" which is obviously not intended. But Jumping of the cube itself is intended.

And you are right, cube jump is a quite inconvenient name. But I guess its too late to change it now.

Lag is forbidden. Make sure you are trying Cube Boost in following levels : 01/04/07/10/11. Every other level gives you a higher jump, why this happens is not known. Look up the guide, it explains the cube boost and cube jump pretty detailed

If you lay the cube on the ground, you can walk on it. You have to put in multiple line's of code for that to happen. It is actually supposed to happen that you can walk/boost with it all the time. But they fucked up coding that.

Dropping a cube below you lets you walk on it, it is not considered a glitch since you do not gain any X or Y velocity.

It seems that Simple locks your FPS to 60, medium locks it to 30 and Gorgeous locks it to the framerate your monitor is, a friend of mine has a 144hz monitor and his FPS locked at about 144.
