The list provided above is pointless. I’m not going to watch anyone grind a time for any of that and in all honesty, you are just creating more work for the mods of this game, who are already busy enough validating runs, not from just this game, but some may be validating on other boards as well. And they don’t get paid to do this. They do this in their own time. No pay. As a hobby. The last thing I’d want to be doing is coming home to 100 people submitting for “First to rename cloud” and having to verify all of them. This list seems like an excuse just to open up more “World Records” so more people can glorify themselves. Just partake in the runs provided and have fun with the competition.
I think one of the reasons is to minimise splicing. A continuous sound movement makes it very difficult to do it and usually it is very easy to spot when sound is played. It’s also a consistent rule across all Speedruns so it only makes sense to have it as a rule. A piece of advice would be to use a pair of headphones in which you can turn your sound down using a dial in them. I have a pair of Turtle Beach headphones which have a volume adjustor on them which allows you to record your sound on OBS and you can run the game muted

The rules state that it is a recommendation. Usually in these cases it’s usually a good idea to follow the recommendation as there maybe underlying reasons behind why that specific emulator has been chosen. A moderator will probably have a more suitable answer but I would stick to the recommendation.

So, I was going to ask about the Uncut version of the mod (Claire B). Is that submittable to this board in the Claire section?

Completely get this. Absolutely understand. But why now? Why not put this in place a while ago? I’ve been doing runs like this for way over 6 months and it’s never been questioned. Not got a clue how to set my stream up so I can abide by these rules but I’ll find out. I’m just a little perplexed as to why this has been briefed now and not sooner?
Are we sure that this is the case across both MediaKite and ReBirth? Just tried this on ReBirth and it is impossible to hit them splits. Maybe it's an imbalance in the OG version?
If needs be, I could step forward for a verifier role? I’m not a current active runner but I am planning on coming back at some point to improve my Emu times. I will be around to verify runs when others aren’t for sure also. Obviously understand if this can’t be done but just offering my hand.

I run this game quite a lot and have never had a crashing problem at any point of the game. Although I have heard from a few other runners they've had some problems. Not entirely sure what the cause may be.
I actually knew about this and never thought to mention it. I actually never do it either because I never knew it contributed to the IGT. Good to know it actually helps
