I completely agree with Secret's reasoning, once some people get their way with little modifications it would open a slippery slope and undo a lot of the time and effort spent by runners on a game that for years has been known for it's ingrained puzzle RNG. On top of this there is also enemy RNG with placement and even behavior which is again learned and expected after much time spent.

This is one hell of a slope people are on. Should just lock it at a specific FPS for the entire route, instead of jerry rigging some switch to 6 or 7 different fps values for one room then another..

If my opinion counts, I'd vote No, for reasons mentioned by SilentKaster a page back, sure run that way for fun and a challenge but I don't think it requires it's own leaderboard on here.

I inquired about the whole "nobody would know" thing earlier and yes there is a way to tell if you are using the tool so cheaters would be found out.

It's one thing to show health and damage values but straight up modification of the game is too much.

Furry is correct in that sure you could save time by removal of the gun spawn but only for just not resetting and going again anyway. It's a slippery slope because if this is fine then eventually you'll want to remove other RNG points (not that I know that's possible) and that's not a slope anyone wants to go down.

In regards to the "make a new category" section as above it would just devolve into "Why would I run Any% when I could run Any% w/o resetting at the start".

Practicing in general, sure go right ahead, people already practice via save states and what not so that's fine to me but posting a run against others who don't use said tools is a No.

I don't know of any game that pits unofficial versions (of any kind) against official versions. Pretty much the only thing that this is about, if it's legit keep it if not drop it / make another category like other games have for hacked versions. (Woo free WR hype)

I like to talk about and understand all games in the RE series. This honestly bled out enough for me to want to talk in here and honestly and fairly challenge something I felt well.. should have been.

I'd heard about these rule changes going on and annoying everyone so I looked around and it did seem a bit odd that despite you having a small section of runners (yes I know you've been pissing in each others cereal recently) there was no proper discussion about when or what rule changes there was going to be as I feel ANY community should do.

As for your question about grandfathering things in Auddy; Welcome to having a discussion with the community or lack thereof. That is a topic you could post and sure as a mod you have the power of authority but you could have nice long conversation about it.

That's probably a bit more than 2 cents but you can keep the change I'm good for it.

Having a discussion after setting rules about the rules isn't really a discussion.

Turning the sound to zero and disabling it is 2 completely different things. One is an option, one is a modification to the game (purely for speed) and in my opinion shouldn't be matched against unmodified versions (see REmaster doorskip). But that is not my decision to make. Just thought I'd try and offer my point of view.

At least bring back Arrange Mode as it'll clean up things and it IS a separate game mode. Simple choice really.

If you need someone to come hilariously far in last place for RE3/2 give me a shout haha.

I think for a while it would be nice if everyone just attempted to talk and see where that road leads. People don't have to like each other to use common ground, that's the point of it, if that means not talking that much or at all past a certain point.

There's been too much shit thrown around for too long and honestly there's no need for it anymore.

I damn well wish I was more experienced with runs so I could help moderate/verify/sort things out for all involved but I can't.

I could think of a list of things to improve quality of life around here but honestly I think if I posted it I'd be shot on sight and I quite like not standing in the middle of the minefield that I see before me.

If anyone has an issue with me or my stance on this issue please don't hesitate to say it to me I pride myself that I can take criticism and react accordingly as that is my day to day job in a nutshell.
