Use OBS for recording and streaming, best software for that. Clack already posted a link to it so you're good to go. Also I think you were referring to something with fceux and a timer? Now maybe this isn't what you mean, but if you don't wanna use LiveSplit for some reason, I think there's a Lua Script for FCEUX that acts as an SMB1 timer. You can see it in Saradoc's old SMB1 runs and streams, it's somewhere in the resources.
