A guide to EVERY SIGNLE CATEGORY

I am going to explain simple and advanced strategies for each category
I am going in order of how they appear on the Leaderboard
These are strategies for non-VR although some might work for VR

---Hug%---

How the Category works:
Basically all you need to do is get yourself killed as fast as possible. Time starts when you spawn in and ends when you see the loading screen after dying

Basic Strategy:
choose Edgefield street house (preferably professional) and when you load in only grab key and get inside. go to Dining room and look behind the table for the Ouija board (there is a 50% chance that it is in the house and 1 our of 6 chance for it to be there). If the Ouija board is there ask the same question multiple times (make sure to not to ask to quickly, remember that AI is trying to understand you so you can't go 300 words per min). You want it to fail a response multiple times to get your sanity low (a question that fails drops your sanity by 40, you can tell when it fails because lights will flicker on and off, and the Ouija board turns off). keep asking questions until it hunts and walk towards the ghost to get killed

--Squad Wipe--

How the Category works:
Basically all you need to do is get yourself, and your teammates killed as fast as possible. Time starts when you spawn in and ends when you see the loading screen after the last player dies

Basic Strategy:
Choose Edgefield street house (perferably professional), and have your team split up to find Ouija board. The spawns don't really matter just as long as you find the board (here is a list of all the Ouija spawns for edgefield https://imgur.com/a/A4oBdma). Once you find the board have one person ask at a time. (make sure to not to ask to quickly, remember that AI is trying to understand you so you can't go 300 words per min) If you want you can have the person who found the board ask the board first and then have them monitor the rest of the team's sanity so they know who needs to ask. then you just keep asking until it hunts. it is best to kill off the person with the highest sanity first. keep asking questions until everyone in your team is dead.

--Thief Any%--

How the Category works:
All you need to do is take one item from every room and bring it back to the truck. time starts when you spawn in and ends when you see the loading screen after closing the truck

Basic Strategy:
Choose tutorial and when you load in, only grab key and get inside. grab one item from the first 3 rooms first (boys bedroom, main bathroom, and nursery), leave foyer for last. take those items back to the truck and then go to the next 3 rooms (master bedroom, living room, and basement). go back to the truck and do the last 3 rooms. take those items back to the truck and then go into foyer, grab something, and leave.

Advanced Strategy:
Choose tutorial and when you load in, only grab key and get inside. once you open the door grab a item from foyer and chuck it on the path. then do the first three rooms (boys bedroom, main bathroom, and nursery) on the way back drop one of the items and juggle the item you threw from foyer, and the item you dropped (I suggest watching the WR to see how to juggle since it is pretty tricky at first). do everything the same as you would the basic strategy, but instead of walking all the way around to the main entrance use locker glitch instead (here is a video on how to do locker glitch https://m.twitch.tv/clip/SneakyIncredulousCodFutureMan )

---Thief 100%---

How the Category works:
All you need to do is take every item from every room and bring it back to the truck. time starts when you spawn in and ends when you see the loading screen after closing the truck

Basic Strategy:
I am not going to bore you with a step by step guide because it is pretty simple but all you need to know is that the best map for this run is Edgefield. Only reason it is, is because the distance between the truck and house is shorter than Tanglewood which has less items. I made a map for all the items in Edgefield which you can find here ( https://imgur.com/gallery/VgzR0Xz )

Advanced Strategy:
Once again I am not going to bore you with a step by step guide but there are some tips I can give. Instead of doing downstairs first do upstairs instead. throw the items down the stairs as you go and take them back after you are done. this is way faster since you can move more items without wasting as much time. Then just do the rest of the rooms like normal. once again I made a map for all the items in Edgefield which you can find here ( https://imgur.com/gallery/VgzR0Xz )

---Thief Co-op---

How the Category works:
this category is just a Co-op version of Theif any% and Theif 100% so I won't explain the same strats, but i will give some tips

Basic Tips:

--Thief 100%--

-Choose Edgefield (map of all items here https://imgur.com/gallery/VgzR0Xz)
-If you are in duo have one person upstairs one person downstairs (for anything above just designate what rooms to do to each teammate)

--Thief Any%--

-Choose Tanglewood (map of all items here https://imgur.com/gallery/RtLqjru)
-Designate people to rooms, there isn't much else to say

--Stack% Tower--

How the Category works:
Stack 5 high with paint cans, the paint cans must be in their spawn position when starting the run, and time starts when you pick up the first paint can, it ends when the last paint can lands.

Basic Tips:
I am not going to explain a strategy, but some tips since this run is only around 2-3 seconds long.
- slowly look up when throwing cans so you can throw them faster without them hitting each other (watch the WR to see what I mean)
- instead of using scroll wheel use the alternate inventory key,  the default key bind is "Q"
- to reset the paint cans back to their starting positions create a private game and leave it (this may cause your game to crash)

--Stack% Pyramid---

How the Category works:
very similar to the tower variant except you need to stack the paint cans in a pyramid instead of in a tower. same rules as last time, the paint cans must be in their spawn position when starting the run, and time starts when you pick up the first paint can, and ends when the last paint can lands.

Basic Tips:
Once again I am not going to explain a strategy, but some tips since this run is only around 3-4 seconds long.
- stack the cans so they make a line from where you are looking and put it against a wall so you can stack it more easily (see WR for an example)
- slowly look down when throwing cans for the first row so you can throw them faster without them falling over (watch the WR to see what I mean)
- instead of using scroll wheel use the alternate inventory key,  the default key bind is "Q"
- to reset the paint cans back to their starting positions create a private game and leave it (this may cause your game to crash)

--Stuck%--

How the Category works:
get the 2 basket balls stuck where you can not get them again (make sure they don't roll to an area where you can get them again), the basket balls must start in their spawn positions before the run can start. Time starts when you pick up the first basket ball and ends when the last ball lands. you might have to watch the ball for several mins for it to be verifiable since the ball could still be rolling slowly

Basic Strategy:
grab both balls and throw them on top of the rack to the right. then just hope that they stop in a place that you can't reach them. the run is pretty much based off of luck since there is no setup to make sure it works.

Basic Tips:
- instead of using scroll wheel use the alternate inventory key,  the default key bind is "Q"
- to reset the basket balls back to their starting positions create a private game and leave it (this may cause your game to crash)

---Bone%---

How the Category works:
find and pick up the bone as quickly as possible, go back to the truck, and leave. time starts when you spawn in and ends when you see the loading screen after closing the truck.

Basic Strategy:
choose the map Edgefield, and add a flashlight (strong or regular so you can see the bone). when you spawn in grab key and flashlight and make sure that you have a open slot. walk in and look for the bone, and once you find it, pick it up, and leave. the bone can't spawn in foyer on Edgefield or Tanglewood, however on Edgefield it can spawn in foyer anyway due to a collider glitch allowing a bone in basement to be on the floor above. this is what happens in the WR.

---Hoop%/Hoops---

How the Category works:
get as many hoops as the specific category (10, 50, or 100) in the shortest amount of time. both basket balls must be at their starting position before you start the run. Time starts when you pick up the first ball and ends when the last hoop is scored.

Basic Tips:
- instead of throwing the basket ball into the top of the hoop, get right under the hoop and throw it right into the bottom and before it bounces out pick it up again.
- to reset the basket balls back to their starting positions create a private game and leave it (this may cause your game to crash)

---Appear%---

How the Category works:
Get the ghost to appear as quickly as possible, you can not get the ghost to hunt. It counts if you hear the heartbeat or the grudge sound effect, whispering into the ear doesn't count. Time starts when you first load in and ends when you see the loading screen after closing the truck.

Basic Strategy:
Choose Edgefield or Tanglewood, and bring a flashlight (Strong or regular to navigate easier), and thermometer (to find the ghost room). when you load in grab therm, flashlight, and key. get into the house and find the room, you can optionally look for Ouija board to get the ghost to do more ghost events. while you are looking keep saying "Show us" or "Show yourself" with a second in between each saying to increase the chances of it showing itself. once it appears (as long as you hear a heartbeat/grudge sound effect) instantly book it back the the truck and leave.

Hoops% (Desktop) Explained

I don't think Hoops% strat was described very well in the holy bible of guides by Bangaled(The basic strategy of the category was explained, but I want to talk about the better strategy). And in being a coinsure of being beaten by him in Hoops%, I would like to try and explain as best as possible the strat for this category. 

First, you want to reset the balls by making a private lobby and leaving it(Bangaled did say this in his guide but said that sometimes your game would crash. I haven't experienced this yet.). You want to align yourself straight against the wall, and under the hoop. The timer starts when you first pick up a ball, but you can also use a time splitter by (again) Bangaled(https://github.com/Bangaked/Phasmophobia-Category-Extensions-Hoop-AutoSplitter). Pick up the ball and as fast as possible align yourself to where your cursor is aligned with the bottom of the ball score counter. Then throw the ball by clicking the drop key, and pick it up as it hits the wall, scoring a point. Now just do this over and over again until you've got the number of hoops that you need to (10, 50, or 100).

-----Fast Scoring------
If you were to click drop, then right after pick up it would not hit the wall in time for you to score a point, it would go straight back to your hand. Instead, you have to click the buttons at the same time. But you want to have the pickup button be clicked first. What I mean is if you were to click this pattern in a search bar you would end up with "eqeqeqeqeqeqeqeqeq"(e is pick up, and q is drop). If you were to have the opposite effect ("qeqeqeqeqeqeqeqeqeqeqe"), you would pick up the ball before it even hits the wall, and again have it end up in your hand. 

If the ball falls out of your hand every time, don't be discarded and try again. Practice makes perfect, and repetition is the best way to learn.

Stuck%

Ball get picked up, ball get thrown, ball get stuck


Now you try! 

"Oh, okay! ... uhhh ... Ball get picked up, ball get thrown, OH FUCK I HIT THE EDGE OF THE" and this repeats for about 1000 attempts "I QUIT!"
