I was trying to run through Every Block but couldn't get the nether portal to work, is there a specific Paper MC way to do it or is it not a thing?

If you have obsidian (which I personally couldn't figure out how to obtain in survival) you build a standard nether portal (you need the corners) and then left click with a flint and steel. Make sure your standing outside of the portal when you light it, it wont light if you are inside of the frame.

There is a way, just make the nether portal while you are outside it.
