I would like to run this game, but I have a few questions.

1. I only have the German version of this game, does that matter?

2. I don't have a capture card and I don't really wanna buy one or play on an emulator. Would it be alright if I recorded the video with a webcam (and have livesplit or so running on screen; recording both at the same time)? If not, I'll see if someone can borrow me a card.

3. Is it possible to add the other tournaments as well, perhaps (which I'd find most interesting) a '100%' category, in which you have to complete all the tournaments in a row?

4. It doesn't say anything about this in the rules, so I'll just ask: Are there any limitations on characters? I assume not, but better safe than sorry :)

Hello there! This game is under new moderation so I apologize for any inconveniences.

1.) The German version for this game is allowed.

2.) You do not need to buy a capture card. You may simply use a webcam or anything else to help record your run.

3.) An "All Cups Any%" is currently in the making and will be up relatively soon. Since there is no other objective to the game other than beating the opposing team, the category is still considered Any%.

4.) There are no limitations to any of the characters upon whom you select.

If you have any other questions or advice on running the game, feel free to let any of us know. I plan on posting a guide for both difficulties, Normal and Hard, whenever I find the time. I hope this helped! Have a great day!

Hi there, thanks for still getting back to me! Unfortunately my DS broke in the meantime, so I'll need to aquire a new one somewhen. However, I might have an interesting idea for a category, if you guys are taking suggestions:

Hard Any% Single Character

The name can of course be changed, since I'm not a very creative guy, but the idea is that you play all four of the hard cups (or even just the Rainbow cup, since that's arguably the most interesting) without ever switching characters. So whatever character you select first will be the only one you use, the other two are just there because they have to.

When my DS still worked, I tried that for fun, and it is indeed possible (somewhat easily if you take someone like Black Mage, much more difficult if you take Boo or Fly Guy) and makes for a really good challenge. Would maybe take a bit longer than a day to max that one out, like Mushroom Cup Any% ^^

You're welcome! The moderator who created this page for the game was inactive for quite sometime before the Mario Sports Series moderators and I came alone hence the long wait, but your patience is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your suggestion! We will get back to you on that once the rest of the categories are up. As of right now, there are 6 categories. Once I finish the Rainbow Cups and All Cups specific details, there will then be 10 categories to run in total. For the time being, that should be sufficient.

In the meantime, if your DS broke, feel free to use an emulator online and submit your run that way if you would like.

Hi man,

that's unfortunate, but understandable. Maybe as a misc category though? Honestly, challenge stuff like this (single character, only score with throws, only score with 100 coins, only play with character X etc.) would be most interesting for me. Also, playing on an emulator isn't really an option for me, since I'd have to relearn the entire game again. I'll work something out, no worries :)

Hey, man! As a Moderator, I will take everyone's suggestions and try to make everyone happy while keeping everything balanced. That's my job. Bare in mind that this game on this website is still fairly new with only 4 runs submitted and verified. I do not want to over-saturate the page with a bunch of miscellaneous categories when the community is very small and unknown. The basic Any% Cup categories are imporant because they are foundational for the game's page. Such categories are to help capture the eyes of anyone who stumbles upon this game and wants to run it. Runners are more inclined to run the general categories more than the intricate ones. We want this community to grow, but in doing so, we need to take it step by step.

I promise you, once the ball gets rolling more and the fundamental categories are finished and complete, we will then make some miscellaneous categories; possibly even the ones you mentioned, a reality.

With that being said, I hope to see a run submitted by you someday this Summer! As always, thanks for your suggestions and inputs! Have a good one!
