[Outdated] Any% Glitchless Guide

This is the basic order of events that most people have been routing their runs around. While this game can require quick-thinking and improv, this guide may help you with getting the cycles on time and planning just a little better. Due to the nature of creating a guide so early, this will most likely be obsolete very soon, but I hope it can help you anyway!

Garden

1.Turn on the sprinkler until the gardener opens the gate and then turn it off. 
   If he doesn’t get caught in the sprinkler then:
      Run up to the gardener and steal keys. (Completes ‘Enter the Garden’ and ‘Steal the Groundskeepers keys’)
      Bring keys to sprinkler.
      Turn the sprinkler on and off again. (Completes ‘Make the groundskeeper wet’)
   If he does get caught in the sprinkler then:
      Run up to the groundskeeper and steal his keys (Completes ‘Enter the Garden’ and ‘Steal the 
      groundskeepers keys’)
      Bring keys to the flower bed
2. Take the flower from the flower bed and take the groundskeepers hat when he plants it.
3. Hide hat in the leaves on the top right of the garden and grab rake.
4. Put rake in the lake and return to the garden. (Completes ‘Rake in the lake’ and ‘Make the groundskeeper wear his sunhat’)
5. Honk when the gardener is about to hit the sign. (Completes ‘Make the groundskeeper hammer his thumb’)
Stand behind him when he’s falling to get into the next area slightly early.

High Street

1. Honk and chase after the boy and untie one of his shoelaces when he goes into the phone box.
2. Take the boys plane and place it in the shop.
3. Break the shopkeepers broom when they attempt to chase you away. (Completes ‘Break the broom’)
4. Return to the area near the phone box making sure to take a pair of glasses with you.
5. Place the glasses down outside and press the switch in the tv store. (Completes ‘Get on TV’)
6. Return to the boy and take his glasses when he goes to retie his shoelaces.
7. Give him the pair you took from the shop (Completes ‘Make the boy wear the wrong glasses’)
8. Honk and chase the boy to get him to try and repurchase his toy plane. (Completes ‘Make someone buy back their own stuff’)
9. While the animation for this task is playing out, steal another pair of glasses from the shop.
10. The woman will chase you so lead her to the garage door and place the glasses down.
11. When she opens the garage door pick up the glasses again and run inside to lure her in.
12. Place the glasses down and close the garage door. (Completes ‘Trap the shopkeeper in the garage’)
13. When she finishes the knocking animation pick up the glasses again and exit to the next area.

Back Gardens

This section of the game is incredibly improv heavy so this guide cannot really help you with the seemingly random movements that seem to be involved, but just look for when the man starts his cycles with drinking his tea and improv based on that.

1. Walk through the loose boards in the fence and place the glasses behind the small bush opposite the man.
2. Steal one of the slippers while the man is reading his newspaper and place it behind the large bush at the back of his garden.
3. Grab the glasses and get the man's attention with them, causing him to drop his newspaper and chase you. 
4. He will take the glasses off you to throw them into the woman's garden, so while he is doing this take his newspaper and place it behind the large bush. (Only the tea is required for the rest of his quests and if he has the newspaper it slows down his tea drinking cycle)
5. Take either his hat or pipe off the table and circle round past his chair to out speed him so he will not chase you to the bottom of the garden.
6. Repeat this with the item you did not take last time.
7. Open the entrance to the woman's garden and bring the hat, glasses and pipe up to the bust so she can place them on. (Completes ‘Help the Woman dress up the bust’)
8. If the man starts drinking his tea during step 7 or after you have completed it, make sure to set off the bell. (Completes ‘Make the man spit out his tea’)
9. While the woman is resetting the bell, take the ribbon off the duck statue and drag the statue behind the table at the front of the garden.
10. Lure her towards the empty space with the ribbon or by honking and get in position. (Completes ‘Get dressed up with a ribbon’)
11. Pickup the purple vase and carry it over to the man's garden by pulling on of the draws out from the drawer.
12. Place it behind the large bush and then steal the man's remaining shoe (Completes ‘Make the man go barefoot’)
13. Get the man to throw the vase over the fence. (Completes ‘Get someone to break the purple vase’)
14. Go through to the woman’s garden and attack the bush sculpture.
15. Move the man’s prize rose by dragging it to the end after he moves the sign in front of it.
16. Wait for the woman to fix her sculpture, causing her to snip the rose. (Completes ‘Make someone prune the prize rose’)
17. Grab the bra hanging from the washing line and make the woman chase you to the back left of her garden.
18. Place the bra down and wait for her to move the piece of purple fence.

Pub

This is also an improv heavy area due to the sheer amount of characters acting on different cycles in this area. After the ‘Steal a pint glass and drop it into the canal’ task the circumstances can differ greatly so the last part may happen very differently to this guide.

1. Run up to the burly man and untie one of his shoelaces, then run past him. (Completes ‘Get into the pub’)
2. Go to the bottom left of the pub and depending on the old man's placement, either honk at him and hide or sneak up behind him.
3. When he gets his harmonica and goes to sit down, move him chair away from him. (Completes ‘Make the old man fall on his bum’)
4. Run up the stairs and grab a pint glass from the table closest to you.
5. Run back down and depending on how far the burly man has gotten, either honk to move him away from the gate and then run, or run quickly through the gate while he is tying his shoelaces.
6. Run to the gate at the bottom of the pub area and lower your head before placing the glass down to open the gate. 
7. Pick the glass up and drop it in the canal (Completes ‘Steal a pint glass and drop it in the canal’)
8. Get back into the pub the same way you did before.
9. Run up to the 2 women seated at the table and honk, duck, and spread your wings in quick succession. (Completes ‘Be awarded a flower’)
10. Run up to the man and honk when he goes to throw his dart. (Completes ‘Break the dartboard’)
11. Run up onto the deck where the woman walks around and turn on the tap. 
12. Evade the woman by ducking under tables until the water starts to overflow from the sink.
13. Take the toy boat and don’t place it down until the task is completed. (Completes ‘Get the toy boat’)
14. Turn off the tap.
15. Lead the woman to chase you to the stairs to trigger her to enter the area behind the large gate. Get the burly man to chase you until you reach the large gate.
16. Go through the area under the deck and honk from the other side.
17. Quickly move a tomato from the box to the floor next to it.
18. Go back through to the area under the deck until the burly man enters the area behind the large gate. 
19. Run up the stairs and to the left and throw the bucket on his head when he goes to put the tomato back in the box. (Completes ‘Drop a bucket on the burly man’s head’)
20. Go back to the area behind the large gate and use the lid of the bin to hop over the fence when the burly man opens it.
21. Unlock the gate behind you as you exit.

Model Village

This is the final segment of the game and probably my favourite part. Just remember to use all of the environment tricks you’ve already learned to your advantage.

1. Swim under the bridge and hop over the red brick wall.
2. Travel to the model castle and destroy all the buttons on your controller/keyboard to break the walls faster. 
3. Grab the bell when it falls and hop back over the red brick wall to swim back to the pub. (Completes ‘Steal the beautiful miniature golden bell’)
4. If the bots are feeling nice you should be able to just run straight through, but if not, use the area under the deck to your advantage.
5. Run over the bridge that crosses the canal into the back gardens.
6. Stick to the left wall of the woman’s garden and travel up to the top to topple her drawer again. (Sometimes the woman may still be picking up bits of her vase when you get there, this gives you a significant advantage)
7. Pick the bell back up and run through the man’s garden in the most straightforward way his placement when you get there will allow.
8. Run to the High Street.
9. Hug the back of the area and run through the woman’s shop. (This will give you extra time as she will always go to pick up her broom)
10. As you get near the end of the high street, the boy will act like he is coming for the bell but run away when you get near him.
11. Run into the garden.
12. When you get near the gardener, weave around the yellow box to out maneuver him.
13. Run to the lake and swim back to the beginning area.
14. Drop your bell in the pile and stop your timer when it hits the floor. (Completes ‘...and take it all the way back home’)

Hello! Over the last two years, I've been researching and redesigning the any% route. My end goal is to remove all instances of random chance. If you don't know me, allow me to briefly flex my UGG clout:

- I've been playing since September 2019.
- I invented and named Fancy Jump, Ero Clip, Blink Launch, Triple Timmy, and New Old Man.
- I invented the first consistent route for Rake In The Lake%.
- I invented the Bow% category.
- I was the second person to perform Pub Skip, and the first to do it w/ inputs visible.

As a passionate glitch hunter, it puts a massive smile on my face any time I see one of my strats in a run. Today, I'm proud to say that every top level runner uses at least a few of my techniques. 

From now on, this guide will be updated as new strategies are discovered. You should be able to claim a WR with this route, so goose luck!

Note: This guide uses half gate clip. Most WR contenders perform full gate clip and RFG instead to save 2-3 seconds. If you choose to do that, you'll need to perform an additional clip after New Old Man.

HALF GATE CLIP:

1) Drop the boot between the light and dark bush.
2) Spin counterclockwise until facing the latches.
3) Crouch. Double tap grab. Stand. Double tap grab.
4) Spin clockwise. Crouch. Grab the boot.
5) Stand. Spin counterclockwise until boot is in the gap between the fence and the post.
6) Crouch. Gently twist left to tap the boot against the fence, then crank right to push off against the post.

FULL GATE CLIP:

1) Run up to the gate while crouching.
2) When you touch the fence, aim the boot at the dark part of the fence post.
3) Drop the boot. Wait until the goose steps on the boot, then regrab it.

SQUID GEESUS:

1) Swim up to the clipping spot.
2) Line yourself up with the wall. Your goal is to be exactly perpendicular.
3) Drop the boot. If you're lined up correctly, it will hit you in the neck.
4) Hit grab when your head shoots up at a 90 degree angle.

ERO CLIP:

1) Approach the clipping spot while crouched and running.
2) Line yourself up. The left side of the boot should be pointing at the crack in the wall, and your butt should be as close to the bush as possible.
3) Drop and stand at the same time.
4) Hit crouch again immediately.
5) Hit grab when your neck jerks sideways toward the bush.
6) Twist left to clip inside.

LOWER BLINK CLIP:

1) Approach the clipping spot while running and crouched.
2) Point the tip of the boot at the seem between the light and dark brink just to the right of the fence post. 
3) Drop the boot.
4) Grab it and pray you go through.
BACKUP - Blink Launch - If only your head goes through, double tap grab as fast as possible (you only have a 2-4 frames to tap again after the first tap) to perform Blink Launch.

SQUID BLINK:

Note - This is an unfinished theoretical setup discovered by me. It's named Squid Blink after myself and SquidDude, who has helped immensely with testing it and proposing new ideas. It's not done yet, but cool enough that I wanted to share it here.

1) Approach the normal spot while running and crouched. 
2) Get perpendicular with the wall and aim the tongue of the boot at the seam between the light and dark bush. 
3) Drop the boot and regrab it. Your success will depend entirely on your tempo during this step. To get a feel for the correct tempo, set a metronome to 165 - 167 BPM and press grab on beat. 

Note - This tempo was the main discovery that makes Blink more consistent, and it will likely be the core of the first consistent Blink setup. We just need to discover the factors that combine with the tempo to make clips work.

MINI-VILLAGE:

1) Grab Timmy.
2) Perform a drop clip and a crouch clip while aimed at the tree.
3) Stand up (to turn faster). Twist left. Crouch under the gate.
4) Drop clip into the tiny mini-village by hitting Timmy's stand against the garage.
5) Run across the rooftops.
6) Run up to the tower while crouched.
7) TO CLIMB - Double tap grab. Rest for a few milliseconds. Double tap grab. Rest. Repeat until Timmy's torso is touching the line.
8 ) Drop Timmy and turn toward the bell, letting Timmy fall while you slide upwards.
9) Grab the bell.
10) Run back down to the display. 
11) Drop clip ONCE to get onto the display. DO NOT SPAM HERE or you WILL lose the bell. Trust me.
12) Drop clip or twist against the tree to escape.

FANCY JUMP:

NOTE - This is a new setup that requires a lot of practice, as the player will be forced to respond to emergent situations to get it every time.
1) Run to the clipping location, but stop running once you reach the corner.
2) Jam the bell into the corner. Note: there's an invisible wall.
3) Wiggle back and forth until the bell stops moving and you start rotating.
3) Crouch. Hit run. Quickly, but deliberately twist the input stick left (11:00 to 10:00).
4) If you twist precisely, the goose will jump up into the air. Three outcomes can happen.
OUTCOME #1 [Common] - The bell will get lodged between the pub wall and the kegs. If this happens, twist the stick right until the goose is perpendicular with the wall, release run, and then twist left until you're inside the pub. 
OUTCOME #2 [Rare] - The bell will get pushed behind the kegs, launching the goose into the pub without any effort necessary.
OUTCOME #3 [Uncommon] - The bell will perform Reverse Blink Clip. If this happens, twist the stick clockwise until the goose is flipped around. Then perform drop clips to get up onto the dumpster.

OLD PUB RE-ENTRY:

NOTE - This method is easier than Fancy Jump, but slower. 
1) Run to the clipping location, but stop running once you reach the corner.
2) Jam the bell into the corner. Note: there's an invisible wall.
3) Wiggle back and forth until the bell stops moving and you start rotating.
3) Crouch. Hit run. Twist the movement stick to like a 7 o'clock position. Release run.
4) If you don't clip through after step three, get parallel with the wall. As long as you stay parallel and wiggle back and forth, the trick works eventually.

NEW OLD MAN:

1) Approach the wall while running and crouched. 
2) Using the bush as a visual reference, line up the bell so it's visible through the two leaf holes, but not the right side.
3) IF WALKING: Drop the bell. Walk into the corner between the wall and the bush until your shoulders touch the bell. Then, turn toward the wall. Continue walking until your beak touches the wall. Grab the bell.
4) IF RUNNING: Follow the same steps, but faster and with less room for error. Rather than grab when you hit the wall, grab after you turn when the goose starts vibrating. 
5) If your head goes through the wall, turn right and stand up at the same time.

REVERSE FULL GATE CLIP, A.K.A. RFG:

NOTE - This and Blink are the only two tricks without consistent setups. It's the reason more people don't perform Full Clip while attempting to PB in the WR to 2m 20s range.
1) Approach the far right fence post while standing and running. 
2) Aim the bell at the right side of that right post.
3) Perform a drop clip.
4) When your head pops through, push off against the right post.

Autosplitter Information Post

The autosplitter for Untitled Goose Game has been finalized.
This is an add-on component for the LiveSplit timer and does not work with any other program. This component only works for the PC version of the game.  
  
  
#*How to install it:*
* open your split file (any category) and Right Click → Edit Splits...
* make sure the game name is set to "Untitled Goose Game"
* above your splits, an "Activate" button will appear, which you need to click
* done!

#*How to use it:*
* after activating, the "Settings" button will become available to you
* in the settings, you can choose when to split/reset/pause
* make sure you have at least as many splits in your file as you have ticked in the settings
* you can also manually split and reset

#*Features:*
* start timer on first honk
* split on completed tasks (can be individually selected) or on intro screen
* reset when restarting, quitting to the menu, or creating a new save game
* pause timer in different places (not relevant for speedrunning, testing purposes only)

Bow% guide (good for beginners)

This speedrun aims to trick Tina into giving us the bow as fast as possible. It uses multiple glitches, most involving the boot. I'd say that the run serves as a perfect way to learn harder tricks for runs like any%. This description outlines an ideal route, and not all tricks are necessary to complete the run. 

Title Screen:
1) Honk, duck, grab the boot, and run to the gate. 
2) Boot clip through the gate.
3) Keep your head low in the water to increase speed (IDK why but it's faster).

Canal: 
1) Clip up the rock next to the lily pads and run northwest until you reach a northbound canal. 
2) Swim up river with your head down, then raise it once you reach the canal bridge (it tends to get stuck on the reeds).
3) Butt launch (crouch, run, and spam B ) up the little beach's leftmost corner until you're level with the bridge.
4) Pointing the boot where you wish to go, slowly slide along the wall toward the bridge until you're up.

Backyard: 
1) Run east until you hit Tina's fence. 
2) Boot clip inside. 
3) Grab the bow and drag the statue to the fish statue.
4) Honk at Tina while she's getting the old statue to draw her attention.
5) Become Dapper. 

In theory, the speedrun should be possible in 1 minute 30 seconds. The hardest tricks are clipping into Tina's yard with the boot and butt launching. The run helps me practice any% since Butt Launching is just boot skip with a fun name and Tina's clip feels similar to bell clip, so I hope it helps y'all figure this game out too.

UGG known Clips, Tricks and Glitches guide for any% - xZeKo

Welcome to xZeKo’s guide.

This is the fastest any% route at the moment. 

It may not be complete as there are still new discoveries and perfection to be solved.
If you still cannot do some of the tricks and glitches then you can either slow down the video in the video settings or pause and go frame by frame. Some videos do have inputs that you can try and copy.

# __Two main glitches involve levitation and clipping.__

## Levitation is when you grab an item I.E. An apple or can, run to two vertical edges and keep dropping and grabbing while running at walls with the item to levitate.

## Second is with a longer prop. I.E the boot. Grab the boot, run to two vertical edges and drop the boot while ducking and grabbing the boot back again. May have to wait a couple of ticks after dropping the prop, depending where your trying to levitate.

## Clipping is when you grab hold of the boot for example, run towards a vertical edge preferably two edges, drop, duck and grab then turn at an angle into the wall to clip through to the other side.

## Wiggle butt clip is the same sort of clip with an apple or can, but once turned you need to wiggle the butt of the goose to clip to the other side.

# Waiting gate skips: (Easy) 

You can after unlocking the bolts, ride up the right side of the gate between the fence and the gate.

Float run towards the edge of the water to either the rock or wooden edge and boot clip up onto the path.

# Pub wall skip: (Medium to Hard) 

You need to be by the wall and the bush on the old man, dartboard side. Place the boot between the wall and bush on the right, wait for goose to look at old man then proceed to grab the boot while slightly turning and hope the boot and most of the goose clips through the proceed to wiggle and turn till completely through.

The other clip here is to be parallel with the wall facing the bush on the right and levitate with the boot to the railings and turn into the invisible wall and clip through.

# Pub door skip: (Easy) 

Yet again with the boot, run into the right side of the door to the trellis at a 45 degree angle, boot clip through while turning to clip through the door.

# Pub barrier skip: (Medium) 

Go up and collect the plate from the shelf, turn back around so that you have the barrels to the left of the goose and the barrier do the boot skip. Run with the plate, make sure the plate clips into the barrier and barrels, turn into the barrier clipping through. (Make sure you don't over do it or you will get stuck behind the barrels or come back out left of the barrels) you can also try with the boot but a lot harder in my opinion.

There is a boot clip skip, but I found it too hard and have been unable to replicate it. Wedging yourself between the barrier and skip bin and duck hopefully get through the barrier.

# Miniature Village wall skip (Easy)

This is pretty simple to master, head with or without a prop to the barrier next to the mini building and drop grab duck turning should make you go over the wall.

# Bell grab skip: (Medium) 

Firstly you can grab a miniature person and levitate doing drop, duck, grab on the face of the tower, on the left side up the bell tower, get to the ledge drop the person and grab the bell. There is a sort of rhythm to this as quickly doing drop, grab, drop doesn't work. You have to grab, wait half a second and repeat drop grab.

A newer way discovered uses the miniature person again but this time go to the left of the bell tower, turn right to face it then proceed to do the above steps. This ensures that you hit the bell tower ledge without falling off, already aiming for the bell.

Secondly, you can keep the plate and go to the bush on the right side of the bell tower aim at the bush turn left so you are facing the tower and plate hover (basically drop and grab) up the side of the tower. Looks like the plate is sort of hiding round the side. Reach the top, drop the plate and grab the bell in a swift movement.

# Reverse miniature wall skip: (Easy)

Go back to where you basically walked over the wall while running hold duck and turn into the bush. This should make you walk back over the barrier.

# Reverse barrier skip: (Medium to Hard) 

Ok, this is somewhat tricky. People have there own take on how to do it but I will give you my own way of doing it. 

Have the goose go back where you clipped out of the pub barrier. Run up to the wall on the left, right next to the Bush. (make sure you are right next to the wall!) Start turning slowly and you can start seeing the Goose sort of move around quick. (it's only very slightly so watch out of it) then all you do is hold duck facing the bush and start to gently wiggle and hopefully watch the goose go back up the wall and through the barrier. If you slide back out you went too far turning. You will know how much to wiggle and direction of the wiggle after practice.

# Reverse swag clip: (Easy to Medium) 

With the bell line up with the door and building on your right at a 45 degree angle. Then boot clip so your wedged into the corner then turn the goose into the door and you should clip straight through. 
(Problem is you can't see much because the building is in the way)

# Bell pub clip. (Hard) 

Trickiest of them all. You need to run past the old man, to the right of the bench, past the two ladies get to the right of the bush and try and boot skip out with the bell. Drop, duck, grab in the corner of the bush and barrier.
If you get the bell and the goose neck through you can turn towards the bush and try and clip out.

If you can't then, try to drop, duck, grab and drop the bell out of the pub then head over to the other bench with the plate and try the drop, duck, grab and turn again until you can get the goose out of the pub. 
(the NPCs will try and grab the bell off you as well making this the hardest clip)

Also I have found that if you drop the bell and the bell is too near the barrier is sort of hangs there wedged between the goose and barrier. When you duck and grab its still hanging and doesn't give you the momentum to get the goose through the barrier. 


# Reverse gate clip: (Easy) 

When coming back through and you didn't unlock the gate on the way out, head to the left side of the gate and at an angle boot clip into the gate but aim at the fence post then when you got the bell and part of goose through turn so that the bell hits the post causing you to clip back through.

We've made a minor change to leaderboard times.  To better support all players, regardless of platform, we are removing additional load times for Console players on categories that have mid-game loads (most notably: 100% and Reverse Area Order).  Leaderboards have been updated to reflect this change
