This bot, RUN GET, will relay to your Discord server any newly verified speedruns for any game you give to it. If you have a server for a game or game series, then this is perfect for sharing new runs with everyone.
When looking at recently verified runs (example: https://www.speedrun.com/api/v1/runs?status=verified&orderby=verify-date&direction=desc), is it possible to embed what the run's rank is? I'm trying to minimize the number of API calls I need to make (because throttling).
I can easily find category rules using the API, but I am unable to locate game rules. Anyone have some guidance?
I've made a Discord bot that allows you to get information from speedrun.com, such as WRs and PBs.
Information is available here: https://slashinfty.github.io/srcom-bot/
If you encounter any issues, check the help/site, then report on the GitHub rather than here if that doesn't help.
On behalf of the Maryland Speedrunning Coalition, we are hosting a speedrunning showcase at JohnCon 2019. It will take place during the weekend of April 12th through the 14th at Johns Hopkins University. The submission form is available below, with more details available inside. Thanks!

There is now a Discord for Golf (NES), with channels for both speedruns and randomizer (which will hopefully pick up more in the near future).
For practice:
Lake - JSFPW Mountain - QGHXB Descent - TZDML City - RCVNJ Palace - PGDSH
When I have some time before New Year's (hopefully), I'm going to be more accurate and carefully retime each run on the leaderboard, for consistency. I'll be sure to do this from now on (I've been a bit lazy, and that's not acceptable).
tl;dr - it is faster to soft reset after finishing a map and saving than to watch the flashing cutscene.
more - after you defeat DK on the last level of a map, you're prompted to save, then the map flashes for a few seconds, then the new map appears. Originally suggested by whatisevenanything, it appeared to be faster to reset after saving rather than watching (he thought it had to be a hard reset, and thought it would be emu only).
See:
I considered soft reset, and decided to test it on both GBi and SGB2. Turns out, it's faster on both.
See:
How much faster? Approximately 2 seconds faster on emu and GBi, and approximately 1 second faster on SGB2 (due to the SGB enhancement packets causing lag). This is for every map transition, so it adds up over the course of an entire run to a decent amount of time save.
This is not a major glitch, it is good to use.
I made some for the main campaigns. Will look into making some for all campaigns later.
