The only useful OOB I've found so far. This theoretically saves ~8 seconds compared to going down the rail past the swords, but it's really hard to do off of natural cycle because of sawblade positioning. Afaik I've only done it off of respawn cycles, and possibly never first try, so that might cut into the timesave or negate it if skipping on natural cycle isn't very doable.

Heya! I've done a glitched 100% run which doesn't really have a home here yet. I'd appreciate that getting added if possible; it's the funnest category I've tried so far. I also wanted to mention a couple things:

  • Timing consistency. I start my timer from first movement, like Beini does in the any% WR. I noticed Salty times from selecting Play on the main menu for 100% Glitchless. This timing decision should probably be consistent across all categories (and for this game I'd suggest first movement because of the load screen on the intro).

  • Should there also be an Any% Glitchless category? That would be four total, between Any/100 plus Glitch/Glitchless.

  • Should Glitchless be actually glitchless or just not using the death warp? For example, Beini pushes two pillars through each other in their Any% run which I'd kinda consider a glitch. It's not on the same scale as the death warp though, so it wouldn't break the game for it to be included in a less glitchy category.

Thoughts?

This OOB isn't useful where it is, especially as I then fell off the map. What is useful to notice is that there didn't seem to be a kill plane beneath the map, meaning that any other OOBs that could be found/used would need to rely on just navigating on the actual map and not as a setup for the spit warp.

It's worth trying to find any other instances of that false floor tile, in case they are above other map sections with solid collision.

Howdy! I started messing with Gift today and got Picklewickle running it. While he was doing his first run I found a way to get a key from a ghost without killing them (which can be seen in his submitted run he did shortly after I found it). This works on v03 at least, haven't tested earlier versions.

While standing on the edge of the screen as a ghost holding a key approaches, wait for the ghost to be nearly on top of you so that the key sticks out past the edge of the room. Screen transition at this point and the key will be laying on the ground next to you.

You can pick it up and use it as if you'd killed the ghost normally to acquire it. If you don't pick it up and re-enter the room the ghost will have it again; this doesn't allow for key duping afaik so I don't think there's any value to it yet.

So I've been testing stuff and want to get people's opinions on whether they feel like there are other potentially faster route options that aren't being used in the run right now.

The one that I'm trying to test right now is after getting Spider Gloves. If you go southwest out of Eden Maw you can head back to Which Path Will I Take, and if you can do the magic pixel jump on the spikes there you can head up to Abstract Bridge.

I'm honestly just not good enough to do either route optimally/consistently enough to get good testing data on which is better, but has anyone else explored this option? Are there other spots that people feel are super awkward/unpopular in the known runs that could give other timesaves?

Hey y'all,

So I added a game on GB weeks ago for the purposes of it syncing to twitch and letting me actually list the game when I play it. I know the sync is supposed to update every day but the game still hasn't been added on twitch despite the wiki page being approved. After a week I went through and added a little more data, including a release, but still no luck. Neither @TwitchSupport, their email account for support, nor @GiantBomb have responded to me asking about this issue. Anyone have prior experience similar to this and an idea what to do?

Hey folks. I'm Travis or rare or whatever other name is easy for you to remember. I've been on here for a month or so but hadn't made my way over to the forums before. I'm fairly new to actively speedrunning but I've been watching for some time. For now, I'm focusing on smaller and shorter platformers while I acclimate to things like streaming and speaking/reading while I falter to make simple jumps. I think I'm pretty good at science and routing stuff and I really enjoy that part of it, so I'd be up for helping people with that sort of thing. I also am into the idea of some reciprocal testing/running; I'll run/science your game (if it's cheap, preferably free) if you'll spend some time with something that I'm playing :D

Heya,

So I've started this discussion before with Krisu and Ben on Twitter but wanted to make a more open conversation. I think where the categories sit now is pretty good, in that they are small in number and distinct from one another. I do want to talk about Rune%, in so much as:

• Do we like the name? • Does everybody like it including full glitches? Currently I'm the only one on a glitch route for Rune% but I feel like it's viable with refinement (and, y'know, better execution than my current level). • Is it okay to bypass the Door at the end with the death clip from Any%, or should it be required in the same spirit as actually collecting the Runes?
