So I got this run on an so-so pace but decided to go for the advanced p-speed strat in 7-1. To my surprise I nailed it, killing all of the piranhas and getting a first time pipe-clip.

Note: I try to practice the pipe-clip but I hadn't gotten it in a run since my last run, which had a 3rd-try pipe-clip. This was really insane.

I have my splits below but probably nobody's gonna believe this: I forgot to record my run! I was running when I noticed my computer was getting really hot because I was recording, so I shut off OBS then started to practice. I make it a habit to always have OBS on while recording, so I totally forgot about everything and decided to start some runs. I got an OK run to 7-1 and pulled off a strat which I hadn't even done in practice without save-states LIVE and then beat the game in as far as I could tell, a 3:25. It might have been 3:24 because I split very late, due to my splitting early on my last run.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I beat the game and was celebrating. That is, until I went to stop my OBS recording, and to my pleasant surprise, discovered that the application wasn't even open. I was sure I made a mistake or stopped recording and then forgot about it, but when I opened my last recording, I discovered that it was some irrelevant practice, not the recording of my 3:25.

Even though I get a better time than this, I'm still going to be very sad about losing this run, Especially since it was my first PB after getting back into the category and grinding this out for more than a week. (And that 7-1 would've looked so sick with that first-time clip :(. ) All-in-all, this was exciting, since if I had my run, it would be 55th place in the world. But, it was also a big let-down because you're the only one in the world who saw that run and know it was real.
