it's incredibly closer to Mega Man 3 (+ second controller does all sorts of stuff) (which was never a category but could be interesting)

edit: I always considered up+A basically a "cheat code" as well

2nd controller being anything but 2nd player is equivalent to cheat codes to me. but it's a cool discovery

"legit" and deserving to be on a leaderboard are quite different. if the run is so "non-competitve" just record another one, it should only take 10 minutes...

turbo is not native to an NES controller and thus, is unallowed. Any run for an NES game that uses turbo is ignored by the proper community and this board (as of this statement) is illegitimate

Hey I have never played before, curious what the differences are

an IL board for this game makes no sense and I removed it. there is no level select and no way to have every run have the same conditions each floor for them to be comparable. Not to mention the complete RNG factor. I have recorded 2 or 3 Level 1's where I started facing the exit, which was in the adjacent room and completing floor 1 in less than 10 seconds

ending should not be necessary, even if the game doesn't know all the levels got beaten, we know. So it's GG on last goal

Pretty sure Boatless' run is actually a 12:26 because he started his timer early (about 0.9 seconds)
