Introduction
Currently, we use an "in-game timer" to compare ourselves with other runners, but I believe that rule should be changed.
The reason for this is that the internet environment creates an advantage or disadvantage.
Evidence
First, please check this video.
This video compares the time when running on a server with a high ping and the time when running on a server with a low ping (WR).
The timer at the top of the screen starts measuring when the explosion effect is displayed and ends when the goal pole is grabbed.
The actual difference is only about 0.07 seconds, but the displayed in-game timer shows a difference of 0.479 seconds.
Idea
I figured I could solve this problem in the following way.
- [in-game time] - [ping value when the goal pole is grabbed] / 1000 = [result time].
(The reason for dividing by 1000 is that the ping value is in milliseconds)
