you can easily avoid the crash in the ruined zoo by choosing pokemon trainer over lucas. lucas crashes the game everytime upon selection there. as for the way around it, the only i found to get around it is by switching to vbrawl, completing path to the ruins there, and then switching back to b- after completing it. it's impossible to progress past the stage in brawl minus. i still have yet to find any way of preventing the crash otherwise. i've done minimal testing with it on 4.2, mainly because on console sse seems to lag a lot on versions past 4.0bc. this is the main reason emulator is the only platform that can be used for sse speedruns.

i did know of the option for different versions, as i've seen it on different src pages. perhaps we can do that and make 4.1 the default version? another option is to transfer 4.0bc times to a google spreadsheet, perhaps like melon is suggesting. i still think even with that, crash the game should probably be removed if sse doesn't crash on console (maybe even if it still does).
i'd need the opinions of the other mods, but i think we should do a clean wipe of the boards and update everything. with a lot of stuff already here, i dont see any reason to create an entire new page. of course, there is some stuff we'd need to remove (crash the game specifically, unless sse still crashes), but i think everything is setup decently to move to 4.1.
disregard this post, igt by itself doesnt organize the runs properly, please post both rta and igt in the target test times for now on.
for now on, i ask all target test runners to submit their runs with only the in game time. real time is not necessary for target test, and doing this will make the level leaderboards much cleaner. you have to do no action for your previously submitted runs. i will manually go through them and remove the real time.
i remember the event with pit having to destroy the platforms in skyworld, for example, not being finish-able. and if not all events are properly functioning, what would you suggest calling the category? just event mode and have in the ruleset the list of events that can't be finished? i just have a problem with adding the category if you can't finish all events, a similar case with all stars.
if possible, please put either in this thread or dm me in discord (i'm in the brawl minus group discord, and my profile has it too) the list of doable events. if all the events are doable, also let me know and under what conditions to do them, though from the post, it is implied that all are not possible. i know project m has a file it uses to complete event mode, and maybe we can come up with one too.
as for co-op target test, yes, i'll try and add that. it'll probably just be another category under the level leaderboards. EDIT: i've added it as a miscellaneous category for now, i don't know if theres a way to put in under the level leaderboards and let 2 people submit the run.
i'm not the only one verifying things, at least in the last month. anyways, yeah i do plan on doing more brawl minus stuff, it's just that brawl minus is very low on my priorities for speedrunning, at least until the next version of it comes out.
i check src pretty regularly and i just watch the videos and verify the runs. pretty simple lol. if any other mod had time and saw that they'd do the same. not hard to verify runs that are shorter than a minute.

i agree with some stuff you're stating, break the targets and classic mode could be good things to include. i will state that the game will probably crash if pokemon trainer shows up in classic mode(?) that can make the category stupid to run, you'd have to reset or something every time he shows up (for console)
boss battles also being based off of igt would be good, since emu saves over 10 seconds on console from loads. however, you can still get a 0.00 igt even with mistakes, which can make igt not accurate in depicting the quality of the run, so still having rta as a side could be good. as of right now, my console run and your emu run seems to be good standards. and yeah, sonic isn't very skillful, maybe ganon or charizard would be more interesting characters to try.
if you want mod, i can give it to you, but i will try to add some categories and other quirks when i can.

in all seriousness i can moderate if needed. i should have time to check sse runs and i'll return to crashing the game and maybe sse again. i just haven't been playing the game much recently because dk64 is my main speedgame, but i'll probably start doing runs again soon.
