xbone = xbox one, the backwards compatibility version of NG Black is already out for it. That's why there's like 10 streams up for NGB of casuals saying "its harder than dark souls".

Forgot to mention that the 360 version is the downloaded version of NG Black.

Did a quick test comparing chapter load times between 360 and xbone.

360 wins by 0.283 seconds. So basically like 5 seconds over the course of all the chapters. That's not much time actually since you'll lose more time to Alma being naughty.

Ingame time doesn't pause during the menu, it will pause the fight timer but the chapter timer is still running.

Also another plus for the 360 version, its much easier to capture hdmi. Just get a capture device that has hdmi passthrough. No need for fancy tricks trying to get component or svideo to work correctly.

I think the loading times are faster on the downloaded Xbox 360 version. Plus the 360 version also has less frame lag. Original xbox version definitely has slowdowns during effect heavy UTs or during the Emperor fight.

Only reason to play the original xbox version would be for Eternal Legend mode. The 360 version has a graphical bug with the boundaries. There is a vision blocking blurring effect that happens when you touch the boundary of the arena.

And the Ingame time is shorter because it excludes cinematics, the loading and end of stage screens.

Wooo, finally got a sub 3hr 100% run, 2:56:02 rta. Fiend challenges and low health UF yolo strats went pretty well. Two improvable boss fights though :(

I think the hardest part is not forgetting any of the life of the gods, I always miss one in my playthroughs -_-

I agree with Kanis in that all fiend challenges should be completed. Based on the given 100% requirements, three challenges can be skipped because of what they reward (Pill Bugs, Cyclops Wasps, and Great Bridge).

These are what the fiend challenges award on normal: Monastery Archives - Spirit of the Devils Ritual Room - Lives of The Thousand Gods Pill Bugs - Talisman of Rebirth Peristyle Passage - Lives of The Thousand Gods Stadium - Lives of the Thousand Gods Stairway to the Imperial Palace - Lives of the Thousand Gods Cyclops Wasps - Talisman of Rebirth Great Bridge - Talisman of Rebirth

Yep, but currently doing some MN challenge runs. Just beat Nunchaku only and Lunar Only. No ninpo next.

What are the rules for 100% ?

These are what I can think of:

  • All Weapon Upgrades (including UF)
  • All Scarabs
  • All Ki upgrades
  • All Ninpo upgrades
  • All Lives of the Thousand Gods
  • All Life of the Gods
  • All Fiend Challenges
  • All time limits met

Did another run but with Bizhawk, total WAIT time was 6min 19sec¤. A video and the emulator movie file are in the google drive link. ¤disk flip not counted since it's manually done

I did note there was several inconsistent loading screens such as Life Town Entry, Hidden Town Entry/Exit, and Thunder Town Entry/Exit.

I went back and replayed the movie again on Bizhawk and the Life Town Entry time was still the same. But I did another manual run to Life Town and the entry town was around the 10.9sec mark. Odd since I chose the Tool-assisted Speedrun profile.

the wii vc run is currently being uploaded thru google sync at the moment but it should be available by midnight ¤done.

If someone decides to do an FDS run on bizhawk or nestopia, please record a movie and post it, i'll record it to avi and do a timing for it. I just can't make myself play thru an emulator on pc. The wii vc had enough input lag to mess up my controls a bit -_-

Decided to do a more thorough timing comparing wii c, powerpak, and fceu-x.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Nxt6WrdaKSXpVsXhx9kZHn5nkqDPN905xl6rECBQsnM/edit?usp=sharing

-- videos that the timings are based off of -- https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B9ZT-JjnCQxvZUZkdThBVnBZZ3c&usp=drive_web&tid=0B9ZT-JjnCQxvdTlDUTJtQkQ5cnc

¤note that fceu-x run is by pandamedic, not me :p

An actual FDS load time is included for reference from my console but it shouldn't be used as a standard of measure since all fds machines vary thanks to age and the rubber belt. The wii vc and powerpak come surprisingly close thanks to the great palace automated diskswitch. Wii vc just has WAIT while powerpak simulates the diskflips and displays another WAIT screen.

tldr; wii vc - 53.6 sec powerpak = 52.2667 sec fceu-x = 3min 7.2sec¤ fds console = 3min 51.4833sec¤ ¤not including great palace disk flip since its manually done
