just wondering, im not into it since i always guarantee that my copy is legit, but im wondering if speedrunning a pirated version of a game is acceptable for the speedrunning community? like it's allowed to be submitted and approved.

the title says it all, i was wondering how long does it take for a run you submitted before it gets verified? days? weeks? or can it even last for months?

so i have a curious question, if you are gonna submit a run lets say for example like a run of Mega Man X4 or something like that, so what if the situation is like this, you played a pirated copy of a game (lets say a burned copy of Mega Man X4) and play it on the PS1 console, is it allowed for submission and considered to be a legitimate run?

dont get me wrong i support the devs and i buy games this question is just out of my curiosity since not everyone can have an original copy of a game.

i already read about the discussion about NG+ being added in the category, but it seems that it wont happened for now or soon, so here is my suggestion:

1.) if someday in the future NG+ category will be added, ofcourse DLC's will still be banned but what if some persona will also be banned? or a skill like that Hassou Tobi skill? so that the run will still have a challenge and not easily beaten by one spamable skill?

2.) if NG+ is gonna be allowed, i know this is somewhat a dumb / stupid suggestion but, what if there will be a certain persona available per castle? like for example; Kaneshiro's castle /only mid tier personas are availale (like lvl 20-30 or something)

3.) restrict some weapons when enetering Castles (like for example; Madarame's Castle, weapon with damage above 180 is restricted or something like that)

4.) if NG+ will be added set the difficulty rules to merciless mode only, other mode that than is prohibited.

i know this is some weird suggestion but i had to guys..... i mean restricting a certain persona and a weapon is kinda weird but the reason why i suggest this is because since we are gonna run NG+ in the future if its gonna be added in the category, we already have some End Game items / weapons, so farming those things wont be getting in our way all we need is just a restriction of using it on different castle to avoid having an advantage of it and abusing it to clear a castle, so there will still be some challenge on the run into it.

wait even the normal ps4 have 60 fps on RE4? not the PsPro? cause i only have the slim not the Pro

i play on ps4's Resident Evil 4 the normal ps4 so its 30fps

the title says it all, i am a long time speedrunner but i only speedrun one game (Orcs Must Die! 2) and im deciding to speedrun a different game from now on, and so far Resident Evil 4 caught my attention, although i already practiced speedrunning RE4 but i am quite not sure about when and when not to use the glitch, i mean i already speed runned the game twice with the help of the ditman glitch but my PB is always between 3:30 hours to 4 hours so pretty sure im using the ditman glitch in a very wrong way. so here is my questions:

1.) do you use the ditman glitch if the area is big? since doing the glitch takes like 10-15 second?

2.) after you rescued ashley do you use ditman glitch? since doing it will leave her behind and you cant progress to the next room until she is near to you.

i mean i could just watch the players, but i need everyones opinion about this.

i was just wondering since i checked other games i can speed run, but the problem is i dont have my ps1 nor ps2 anymore, so if i speedrun a game, lets say a ps1 game, should i highlight the console Playstation and check the emulator? is that how it works? since there is no PC in the options, sorry for this question im still new in here...

so i just submitted a run and it hasnt been verified yet, does verification do seriously takes a lot of time for a mod to verify my submission on that run?

im new to speed running and i wanna speedrun resident evil 4, but is it ok if its not a steam version? and also if i speed run do i have to be live? or i can also record it and just upload it on youtube and submt it? cause i have a really bad net speed so i cant live stream.
