Sorry for the delayed response, but I've finally been able to sit down and look at the new glitch and direction of these categories. I think this new glitch is perfectly fine in any%, and appears to save significant time, so it will be allowed with it's own column on the boards, and you can filter out if you want to see glitchless times. For the all characters run, the team swap glitch takes away an entire team's worth of characters, and so I think it's in the best interest of the theme of the category that the glitch be banned. Same with superstar%, as unlocking characters is a major routing point in some of the runs, especially all superstars, so it is banned there. The glitch is also banned in Bowser% for the time being. If runs are done with the glitch that demonstrate the need for a new category or subcategory, it can be added as needed. I had the thought of an "all unlockables" category, starting with a new memory card and unlocking all characters, minigames, and modes. No category will be added until runs are done or serious interest is put out (as was with superstar%)

I have to agree with Blitz here. The only time financial reasons should split up a leaderboard is if spending more money nets a significant advantage (such as using an amiibo). Until there is substantial evidence that there is a clear advantage to an emulator run (load times, emulator only glitch, etc.), they should be on the same leaderboard.

Any% (No X Button) Timing starts on file select. Timing ends on the last ground pound of Bowser. You cannot use the X Button.

Finally got a run in, even though it was atrocious.

There's already an in-game score and online leaderboard, so I don't think a speedrun category is necessary. Also, the speedrun would consist of being eliminated from a lot of minigames as fast as possible, which I don't think makes for a good speedrun

Also could all gems be a run? I’ve only gotten 2 but as long as none of the gems require online play it could be a good completionist category

I dot think Sound stage would be a good speedrun. There isn’t any way to speed up finishing a level. But it could definitely be part of a 100% type run

I think River survival should be split up by single player and multiplayer. Because being able to row from each side is a big deal in controlling the boat

River Survival could be an interesting speedrun. It would likely have to get split up for single player and multiplayer.

This run isn't a legal run of the category, since I accidentally press X in King Boo and then I game over in Corona and don't finish the game, but it shows the framework of the run. If I need to do a complete run to get it on the leaderboard then I can, but I wanted to make sure this will get on the leaderboards. I barely know any hoverless strats, so the run is pretty rough, even before the game over, and I get hover nozzle in some levels where it probably loses time.

I think the run is interesting because it's basically hoverless with some exceptions, the big one being still able to do GBS. And doing hover only eel is interesting as well.

So I’m looking at doing a run of this on Friday, so I’m looking to finalize a route for my run. That google doc is a little confusing, so I’m trying to create a route that tells me what captains to choose, what pitchers to use for each game, what mvps to get, and where minigames/shopping should be routed in. I’m going to try and figure that out on my own, but any help would be appreciated. Also, when could/should I reset so that I don’t lose any progress? There are a few missions that I struggle to get at all so some tips on them would be great: Catch a booted ball Climb up the wall and make a catch Crush someone with a body check

Thanks in advance and I hope I can kickstart this category

Daisy is the fastest, due to the fact that she gets aces and winners very easily. Honestly, I've only used Koopa and Daisy, so there could theoretically be a better character out there, but I don't think that is likely

Since most of the Mario sports games have decent categories for speedruns, I think a category doing several Mario sports games for the gamecube could work. I was thinking Mario Golf:TT, Mario Power Tennis, and Mario Superstar Baseball.
