We've decided to add separate mod categories for all 3 games that allow the use of the Expanded Speedrun Mod made by KR33PYK1NG. These mods mostly just reduce downtime during the runs significantly by allowing all dialogue/cutscenes to be skippable. This saves 35 minutes in Mass Effect 1, 10-15 minutes in Mass Effect 2, and ~1 hour in Mass Effect 3. The default displayed categories on the leaderboard will remain the "no mod" categories.

Hi guys, just an FYI (since I think some of you are not in the discord):

Since the load remover is now available (go into livesplit splits editor and hit activate; should work for all 3 games), I'm going to set all runs that didn't use it to have their time with loads = time without loads. Because, otherwise, runs with time without loads blank will get sorted to the bottom:

EX: run has 2:05:00 with loads and no time listed without loads run 2 has 2:05:37 without loads and 2:15:00 with loads. Run 2 would actually show up higher placing on the leaderboards.

I may go back and try to manually actually count loads at some point for runs that didn't have the load remover available, but I'd just encourage you to beat your times using the load remover so you have a more accurate placing on the leaderboards.

For future reference: to get the load remover to show up in livesplit, you need to set your game name to "Dragon Age 2" not "Dragon Age II'

The tutorial has finally been updated with all the latest strategies.

So over the past few days I've been looking into the Awakening Expansion as a run a little bit. I've been looking at new game (creating a new warden, not importing one). It mostly looks uninteresting: there will probably be a few small skips you can do by zooming out and standing on top of stuff and getting teleported, but none of the other ways of getting OOB work. Attribute glitch also doesn't work (since you have to play on 1.03 or later), so you have to make due with whatever stats you are given at the start plus probably buying some gear. I'll probably edit this more once I have a full route worked out and I'll maybe do a run or two, but mostly looks like it'll be boring.

reading dragon age wiki and accidentally found a new strat lul: if you are under effects of anti-magic ward while you cast flying swarm, you get some of the benefits including speed but stay in human form, and can cast all your spells/use potions. definitely useful for max quests and all treaties, could theoretically be useful for any% but would require changing route quite a bit (and allowing us to use some things like dlc items and previously unlocked specializations that might be sorta questionable?).

New categories are up for current patch (since the new patch removes the ability to do door/wall clips; all the other skips like OOB on Moshae/Remnant City still work).

Tentatively, these are going to have to wipe the leaderboards every time a patch is released (the can probably be migrated over to the general any%/any% ng+ leaderboards) as this allows people to do a run on equal footing with everyone else without having to worry about reverting patches, although I am working on a patch thing to allow people to revert to 1.05.

Trying to clip under the island with Eos Vault

Minimum requirements to complete game:

Habitat 7: Pretty self explanatory. The Nexus: Once you've talked to Tann and SAM you can leave right away. Eos: Clear site 1, activate the 3 monoliths, do the vault and found an outpost. I made a military outpost. Nexus: talk to Tann and Addision and activate some cryo pods (the cryo pods might not be necessary but takes so little time I did it anyway). Aya: meet Efra Go to either Havarl or Voeld, complete a single short quest and then vidcall Efra. I rescued the scientists on Havarl. Voeld: rescue the Moshae. I decided to blow up the facility. Aya: Go to the vault with the Moshae, talk to Efra. Kedara Port: get the intel from the traitor, go into the field to pick up the transmitter. I agreed to Sloane's deal instead of rescuing the traitor, which made this section very quick. Archon's flagship: Do the quest. I save the Krogan instead of Pathfinder Raeka. Remnant City: explore it Space: deploy 3 probes Remnant City/Meridian: complete the final mission.

So me and Bamz0rs made it about 70% of the way to finding a way to skip the gates fight. Steps:

1. Talk to Riordan in Denerim Castle so that you trigger the quest marker to talk to Morrigan
2. Go downstairs, use Warden+Daveth/Jory to trigger conversation glitch with Sten.
3. Add Sten and Morrigan to your party, then travel to Denerim Market (which is where the game thinks you are on map for some reason, so it's fastest).
4. Talk to Morrigan, which will trigger her dialogue where she talks to you about making baby to stop archdemon
5. Battle of Denerim cutscenes trigger.
6. You need to pause around .1-.2ish seconds after the your timer resumes after pausing for the load screen (load screen won't have disappeared yet completely) to avoid getting in combat so you can conversation glitch .
7. Conversation glitch with sten. This is pretty hard, sometimes you get only one conversation off before getting dragged into combat.
8. Riordan's post-gates dialogue triggers. However, all the enemies will still be there.
9. Hard part: you need to drop combat somehow to use area transition. We haven't found a good way to do this fast yet.

Note that getting the pause fast is really precise, so this glitch would probably be pretty annoying to do in runs.
