E Dragon I can only assume from your post format you're doing some kind of marijuana or something

Does E stand for ecstasy? Probably.

I have several VHS players in my apartment, which I will post pictures of if need be to prove myself when I get home.

I record on VHS because I use CRT TVs and don't have a computer with a capture card or anything that could run OBS at a reasonable speed. This is also why I run HM2, which has its own timer that counts to the thousandth of a second.

Please do not make fun of people for being poor thank you

I wouldn't call HuniePop a game, nor very erotic. I appreciate the input though.

I think I'd like to also organize an erotic speedgame marathon soon, maybe I will start a thread if enough people are interested.

I don't appreciate your attempt at character assassination and must also inform you in front of everyone that you're incorrect. I run Hotline Miami 2, which has its own in game leaderboards, and F-Zero X, which I record on VHS tapes Until these problems with doping are rectified on speedrun.com (which, judging by the number of drug addicts in this thread, won't be for a long time) my tapes will not be posted to this website.

I'm just saying Drakodan your accusation was specifically of trying to get a rise out o people. It seems a little counterproductive.

Anyway, I don't understand the stubbornness in this community. Everyone so far has basically just spouted some completely baseless presumption, admitted it as such, and then stuck to their plan of doing nothing. This is why so many leaderboards are corrupt, why so much drama results from moderator bias. Why if I didn't know any better I'd think the people saying no must be hiding some kind of drug use.

I will be emailing Mike Uyama in the coming months. With any luck we will rid this community of its drug obsession.

If you refuse to believe that why did you ramble across two different posts?

In any case GDQ prohibiting runners from partaking in drug use only adds legitimacy to my argument, I feel fully that we should pay more attention to this issue in the way any professional organization would.

I'm guessing you're not a person that uses drugs or you would know they don't just make you react faster, but there are plenty of drugs that people use to improve focus tremendously in ways that sober people could not reasonably be expected to achieve, such as maintaining 100% focus over periods longer than six hours.

Does anybody run erotic games like Custer's Revenge, or are there any resources for getting into this? I'd like tutorials/etc but they haven't been easy to find, assuming they exist at all. Thanks in advance.

If you are only here to be antagonistic why not enjoy any of the other hundreds of perfectly acceptable threads on speedrun.com instead? I don't understand.

Speedrunning in certain circles is already a business and I think it's a common aspiration for many streamers to do such a thing for a living or at least for supplemental income. The money won't be an issue when certifying runs if it's applied only to record breaking runs.

Why would we talk about things that are already policed by the community? Software and hardware cheats are already condemned and looked out for. Drug cheating is not.

I don't have to mention how dumb it is to suggest people don't play video games while high.

Chex Quest, it's free, runs on any computer, and you can beat it in five minutes. It's pretty fast paced and fun to actually play, give it a shot.

Hey sorry for the late reply. You are correct, there is no speedrunning authority, which only exposes the glaring holes in the system even further.

Imagine soccer with no FIFA?

But that's what we have today. A growing competitive scene with a thriving culture and no way to manage it at all. Given the scandals that break out quite regularly in individual speedrunning communities, across leaderboards, don't you think there should be a consistent standard for moderation across all games, so there isn't this cultural friction that exists between speedgames?

If someone runs a game on emulator, gets WR, and decides to play another game, only to find that community doesn't allow emulator runs, isn't that a problem? As a collective whole we should either allow or disallow emulators. This along with dozens and dozens of other issues could be solved with some kind of central authority. With such an organization in place, adding drug testing to the list of standards enforced would be trivial.

Yeah, the idea was "100%ish"

I think this run is pretty good. I'd like to see it adopted a bit more by the community, but that's their prerogative.

Afghanistandoctorwoot7 years ago

It's obvious Any% is the popular category among runners, but I think a run that more completely exhibits the game might be less esoteric and more enticing to newcomers.

So my question is how well would a "complete" run of the game work? With cutscene skips and everything, but without the invincibility, or skipping large portions of the game?

Afghanistandoctorwoot7 years ago

Given the sensitive state the community is currently in you should maybe make it a point that you won't hear out anybody attempting to apply peer pressure for a moderator position, especially from ex-mods.

I think most people want to see some clear signs the community won't backslide into the position it was in before Pac stepped in, where the old guard just climbs back into the moderator chairs and it's business as usual.

Afghanistandoctorwoot7 years ago

After all that's happened and you still have the balls to accuse anyone of favoritism?
