Hey friends, I wanted to bring up a pretty important topic here in regards to KH1FM on PC.
As you are probably aware, purchasing JP on PC is near impossible ever since Epic removed the option to use Amazon Pay as a payment method. To purchase JP, you need someone from Japan to purchase the game for you, since PayPal requires JP phone number verification; or you need a prepaid Japanese VISA card with enough funds to pay for the game in full.
Therefore, I am proposing some time normalization on the leaderboard, where we subtract time lost to JP from non-JP runs (i.e. subtracting 45.6 seconds from every Beginner Any% run on English). I realize we would have to modify about 80-90 times on the leaderboard, which I'd be happy to help with if need be. For other categories we would need to figure out the time loss, but that shouldn't take long. Runners shouldn't have to jump through hoops to have a fair shot at competing.
Hey there! I just want to let all of the moderators and anyone who it may concern know that you will be seeing an unusual increase in run submissions very soon! This is because of the new monthly speedrunning competition, Surprise Speedruns, where players are challenged to learn a randomly-selected game every month and then participate in a $100 race at the end of the month. In March, our main speedrun will be Treasure Planet Any%!
Unfortunately anyone with a leaderboard submission or anyone who has speedran the game before the creation of this thread is not able to participate in the competition because you wouldn't be learning the game from scratch, but we would really appreciate it if you considered joining the Surprise Speedruns Discord server if you are interested in helping our runners learn the game! We will even give you a special role in the server so people know who they can talk to! When you join, make sure to ping me (@Violin) and let me know you're from the Treasure Planet community! https://discord.gg/hSbcFJ7
Thank you for taking your time to read this, and I look forward to seeing how far the competition will go!

FAQ
Q: What is Surprise Speedruns?
A: Surprise Speedruns is a monthly speedrunning competition where all participants are required to learn the same randomly-selected game from scratch.
Q: Is there any prize money involved?
A: Yes, the top three winners of each monthly race will be qualified for the $100 prize pool. 1st Place gets $60, 2nd gets $30, and 3rd gets $10.
Q: How do Championship Points work?
A: You earn 1 Championship Point just for qualifying for the monthly race. This means you have proven that you have learned a game from scratch by having a verified leaderboard submission to speedrun.com on a date after the month's game was announced. A majority of the Championships earned will be during the monthly races, which are based on how well you perform as well as how many participants are in the race. The top three people with the most Championship Points at the end of the year will earn physical trophies as well as an additional cash prize bonus.
Q: How do I join the competition?
A: You can join the competition for free by joining our Discord server: https://discord.gg/hSbcFJ7
Q: Where does the prize money come from?
A: Currently, I am self-funding this competition, but there are plans to set up crowdfunding in the future to increase the prize pool.
Hey there! I'm Violin and I am running a monthly community event called Surprise Speedruns, where everyone is challenged to run a specific game that is randomly pulled from speedrun.com/randomgame and the players compete for a $100 prize pool at the end of the month! I wanted to let you know that M&M's: Shell Shocked was randomly selected for January and you can expect many new submissions between now and then! Unfortunately none of the runners who have submitted before today will qualify for the prize pool (as it would be unfair to everyone learning the game as of today), but if anyone from the Shell Shocked community would like to help new people out, or compete in future games, feel free to join our Discord server and introduce yourselves! https://discord.gg/Vh53dy6
A few months ago, I announced a new community event called Surprise Speedruns, where every month we challenge the community to speedrun a specific game that is randomly pulled from speedrun.com/randomgame. On the last day of each month, a race for a $100 minimum prize pool is held, and the top three players win a cut of that prize pool. I am happy to announce that the first Surprise Speedrun race will be held on Januray 31st, 2020 at 2PM PT/5PM ET/10PM/UTC! The game that will be ran is M&M's: Shell Shocked https://www.speedrun.com/mmss ! If you would like to participate in these monthly competitions, please join the Surprise Speedruns Discord Server! I look forward to seeing new faces and making new friends in the speedrunning scene! https://discord.gg/Vh53dy6
Itching to learn a new speedgame? Or maybe you're new to speedrunning? In any case, Surprise Speedruns is for you! Each month a random speed game will be chosen from speedrun.com/randomgame, and every Sunday the community will come together for races and competition. During the last Sunday of each month, there will be one big race with all of the participants, where a monetary prize will be provided to the first, second and third place winners. The prize pool will be determined by how much growth Surprise Speedrun gets, but will start off with $100 in total prizes.
Surprise Speedruns will officially kick off in January 2020, but if you would like to test this before then, please feel free to join the Surprise Speedruns Discord server!

Hi, just want to say that I do not agree with merging leaderboards for DDD for 3DS and DDD for PS4, as there are so many differences. It also doesn't make sense to me that a game mostly run on PS4 would be represented by the 3DS box art and the Kingdom Hearts 3D title. I think there should be a community poll on this because I cannot be the only one who disagrees with this merge.
Hi, this is a request for "100% - 1 Controller" and "100% - 2 Controllers" to be added as categories. 100% is attained by getting a crown on every single stage in every single mode in the Stage Select screen. With 1 controller the run is longer because you have to play through all of the stages in every mode to unlock the ability to control both characters in coop, which is the only way to finish every coop stage in Cool mode, since the CPU is so bad that it doesn't let you get into Cool mode in stage 3 through 7 (stage 2 is fine). With 2 controllers you only have to play through the coop stages once with Rammy and once with PaRappa.
