Thanks @Really_Tall, that helps show that part of my issue is indeed not due to my code. That just means the board needs maintenance, if anything. I'll have to adjust my code to keep this in mind.

@SomeBroYouDontKnow I have been trying to solve how the subcategories work within the API. When I look at the JSON code for the leaderboard, there is no way for me to filter subcategories, or that I know of

In the 16 star VC there are "-" places. I'm unsure why that is. One example is place 39.

One huge question I've been trying to solve is what are the different "platforms"?

There is N64, VC, EMU And the other has the options N64, WiiVC, WiiUVC.

The problem is that as far as I can tell, the API throws all of them together (or in some form of grouping).

Unfortunately I haven't been able to contact anyone fluent in the websites API, so I don't know how they are differentiated.

Hey there, I have a small question regarding the construction of the SM64 leaderboards.

I have been working on a script that exports leaderboards. The problem is that SM64's leaderboard is absolutely broken.

Initially I thought this might be due to an issue with the speedrun.com API, but I now believe it is due to certain issues and/or inconsistencies in the leaderboard itself.

My question has to do with how exactly the boards are set up.

In SM64 16 stars, unter the VC tab, there are numerous runs with a "-" place. Why? Also, there are many EMU runs in the SM64 tab, which makes no sense.

Also, what exactly filters the SM64 leaderboard from N64, VC, and EMU?

From what I can tell there are TWO "platform" selections whilst submitting a run. I need to know how these differentiate within the speedrun.com API. I am unsure if anyone can help me with that in particular, but I would appreciate the help. Thanks

Can we have that added? I'm not ready to do all cups, so individual Cups with different CC's categories would be fun!

Dude these are amazing saves! The first looks like the difference between n00b strat ad "i know this game a bit and am good " strat lol.

the seconds video looks like a "dude i am so gud like omg i is pro" strat. aka not me (I can't even play this cos my DS broke D: )

Depending on the amount of submissions in a particular category, varies if or not we will accept. If you have a hand held camera, you can use that by mounting it, it doesnt have to be perfect quality. As long as we can look, see you are being legit, we will approve.

If you still cannot use video, we may accept your run if it isnt a top place run.

I will discuss this with the other active admins and see to it whether or not to add this category. If we so choose to add this category, it will be under the Misc. categories. I will post here the outcome of our decision. Depending on admin activity, it may take a few days to a week to decide.

I'm also fiddling around with the "speedrun.com" logo and favicon (there was no favicon at first). But sadly my internet is a little poop right now so things like the logo aren't smooth and look ugly. I have a new, smooth version. Just gotta wait until the website lets me change it haha. It wont upload right now xD

I could do both. But it might get a bit cluttered. If there becomes a demand for levels, I can always add the world cat. into the full-game misc, and add the individual levels to the individual cat.

I was also debating on how I should do the runs. Should I set up the individual world World any%/100% in the individual runs category, or the full-game misc?

Also, should I add individual levels, too?

How would you guys prefer it set up?

I did make a stupid mistake earlier. I misread something while setting it up. What do you think now. I fixed it up?

So, I have messaged the only mod on the Super Mario 3D Land page regarding my request for mod; the addition of the rules to the run categories; and miscellaneous run categories, but he hasn't returned any reply. I messaged him on Youtube and Twitch (they are the only media he has connected), but I haven't had a reply. Someone has already asked what the rules are in a forum post (which I answered). But now I am worried there are people who won't run it because this page is practically inactive.

I wish to start off speedrunning this game in the MISC categories first (to learn), and eventually work up to the proper categories. But there has been no reply at all.
