Nice to see some activity on the leaderboards! Arossavi and I have had quite a few discussions about possible differences between the console and emulator versions of this game. After countless comparisons, we came to the conclusion that the emulator allowed for some faster strategies on many levels as well as some improvements in consistency for some tricks. This includes, among others, water bounces, some wall clips, and some cuts. The impacted levels are, as far as we know:

Snow La Coasta (Water bounce, barrier climb) Manic Mines (Roof clipping at the start of the level) Lumberjack Lake (Water bounces) Scarecrow Creek (Water bounces) Wood Stockade (Water bounces) Rushmore Rapids (Water bounce) Fish 'N' Ships (Water bounce)

All those differences do not save a huge amount of time over a full run, as there are many instances where you can make up the loss somewhere else; however, in the case of ILs, which are getting slowly maxed out, the differences are quite huge (over a second sometimes). As such, I have made the decision to separate console and emulator for ILs only at the moment. If the full-run categories do get maxed out at one point, we will consider a separation there as well.

As I have been busier for a few years now, and considering that Arossavi has done a great job with researching the game and providing me with help regarding the leaderboard status, the state of the community, and understanding the game more, let alone his activity, I named them moderator for this game. We will still take any decision together, but they will at least help with verifying runs and checking this forum often.

I'm glad so many runs have been submitted lately, and I'm sorry for the time it took for me to verify them, as I have been quite busy lately and often forgot to check this website.

In order to fix that issue, I've created a Discord server which, if you are able to join, can serve as an exchange platform for the community and as a way to notify me when you upload a run, in case I missed it. Indeed, I'm much more active on Discord than on here, so it should speed up the process of getting your runs validated. On another note, I recently added milliseconds to the leaderboard to fix potentially ties for first, and to allow for an overall increase of the fairness of the leaderboard. However, older runs still do not use ms, so I am in the process of manually adding them to the runs.

From now on, too, it will be compulsory to add milliseconds to your runs, preferably when you submit them, or at the very least to use livesplit (or a similar timer) on the video itself. For Level Time Trials (not the full game, but Individual Levels), we will obviously take into account the in-game time, as it is the easiest and most precise way to proceed, so no need for an external timer there. I will not reject runs if this rule isn't followed, but the milliseconds value will be set to 999 in case there is no indication of the ms time anywhere. It might sound trivial, but a whole second on races of a minute and a half makes a world of difference.

I tried to make this game's page more attractive but after failing to find anything else than a background, I'm now here to tell you that if anybody wants to make icons for the podium rankings (thus 1st, 2nd, and 3rd), I would gladly use them. It's not necessary at all but it would definitely look cooler on you guys' profiles. (They would also need to have a resolution of at least 64x64).

I noticed from the new WR in Economic Victory that the game on X360 is very different from that on DS, giving a pretty huge advantage to X360. Would it be necessary to break the leaderboard into two parts, one for each platform? It would ensure more fairness in the representation of records in my opinion.

Please post on this topic all suggestions regarding the categories that, according to you, should be added for this game.

Before running, you are allowed to use the following cheats to unlock all tracks, cars, and abilities/gadgets. It allows for more fairness between players – some might not have a certain power-up that is very strong during races and would thus be in a disadvantage.

I'm new to speedrunning (kind of) and to this game, and I must say it feels good to play games I used to play as a kid again. As far as I know, there is no other way of connecting with runners of this game than through this forum, so I was wondering if setting up a discord server would be interesting or so, considering that it would allow us to share our findings in an easier way and help people to get to know each other.
