well, when it comes to speedruns, easy is very subjective. Some runs are generally easy while some might be seen as easy to some but difficult others. All around, i would try and narrow down a genre you would like to play in, for example you said SM64 so maybe the platformer genre would be what you're looking for. Then, look for platformers or categories that are easy to learn. I will warn you that shorter runs typically do mean they're more difficult, while there are outliers in this regard, it's a general rule of thumb i've seen with games. Longer games tend to be easier and more forgiving due to length, while shorter games you have to cut edges and be alot more strict with. Every genre has it's set of ups and downs too, that's stuff you'll have to learn as you go and figure out if that stuff you wanna deal with. Person i'm more of an RPG runner, i like long runs and the execution of RPG speedruns, though it comes with the downside of RNG and length. All around, you just have to figure out what you want, and once you do, you'll find your home in the speedrunning community.

daravae the PS4 Pro definitely has faster loads then base PS4 and it's much more of an invesment then an HDD or SSD
so, on the Crosscode leaderboard the Current any% time is a 31 but it's showing the old 38 for me, everyone else sees the new PB but me. I'm not sure why that is. Just figured it would pop in and report this
while that is true if there only like one or two runners who did like one run there's not much of a point in the leaderboard. The thing is most people are probably be alot more active running NG categories over running NG+ because NG+ doesn't really add anything, again you're more then welcome to run what you want but if no one is running the category there's no real point in having it
the thing about NG+ is yes it doesn't start on a fresh file but it has an easy way to say "yes this is the starting spot" and ending would be the same. As for the thing about disadvantage and advantage, that on the players if they don't want to put in the effort to have a max efficient set up to go quickly in NG+ that's on the runner, so i wouldn't say anyone is at a disadvantage unless the runner themselves put themselves there, and at that point that's the same as if a runner decides to not go for certain skips. If you choose not to do this you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. I'm not arguing that NG+ should or shouldn't be a category, just saying i don't think the argument for saying that NG+ would be at a disadvantage is a correct argument for why it should or shouldn't be allowed. If NG+ was put onto the leaderboard i definitely do think it should be separate categories. Though personally while i might be interested in doing a run or two of NG+ idc if it gets a leaderboard because i don't think it adds that much more to the run
outright banning win7 opens up a very big can of worms, i think separating win7 instead is the better option here.

hello, XDragon, myself and Symponian46 have discussed this and decided to remove Cryze, Brotenko, and Voltrey as mods since they are inactive and currently haven't been doing anything but we have no power to do so. Would this be the place to request this or would this needed to be requested somewhere else?
the problem with that is, Variable isn't at all competitive so 60 FPS being the main makes sense. Variable is basically whoever has the better PC/console basically will always have WR. If you can't run this game at 60 FPS your computer probably barely handles this game period so i don't personally see a problem with making 60 FPS the main category
personally i believe if we do any filter it should be with HDD and SSD seeing the difference between systems (PS4 vs PS4, i can't say for Xbox one but i would assume the same) is pretty mininimal compared to how much of a difference hard drives make. Just seeing from other games current gen console games the difference is pretty significant. Ranging from being about 20 mins of a difference to up to almost 40 or 50 mins of a difference where as consoles tend to only make about a 2 to 4 min difference due to being on a higher framerate or just processing better.
As for everything else i'm pretty much in agreement with everyone, beam on xehanort, level 1 idk really care myself because i'm not gonna be running it so people who are should talk it out, DLC should either be separated or banned. Should not be on the same board, All worlds, since there's only one optional world then i don't see a point
yea, it could be the VSync, i turned that off too and it seemed to have stopped. Atleast for me it has
i've fixed this by setting the FPS from variable to 60/30. The glitch seems to be something to do with the FPS not being fixed
I don't know what SSD you got but mine was definitely not 40 bucks. Maybe if you want a cheap external choice sure, but the better the SSD the better the load times
@generalnolan, HDD and SSD is the hard dive type. SSD can load things much faster without getting into huge details. Better to look up what they do for a better explaination
sub categories a good for sure, 15 mins is alot of time to save. The loads between SSD and HDD are way different and warrant the change. I'm also someone who's against pay to win speedrunning :p
