Yeah sorry for not updating you on this, irl dramas. It does run in windows 10 it just doesnt like windows 10 too much. I see you got it sorted out, congrats on 2nd place.

It's kinda hard to get it to run efficiently on modern windows PCs. You can change the last "1" in SCENE3D.INI to a "0" to prevent it from changing your desktop resolution. You can also reduce load times by extracting the Carz.res file and executing from that, it's basically just a zip file with the game's resources in it. Apart from that though, all I can recommend is setup a Windows XP virtual machine with a high amount of system resources and run it out of that.

You don't need to pass every checkpoint if you go in reverse. The game has a mechanic where it assumes you are completing the race as intended (forwards, instead of backwards), and if you happened to miss a checkpoint and get the one after it, it will mark the checkpoint you missed as completed.

So, theoretically, you don't need to get ALL the checkpoints. But you do need to complete the race.

I assure you, this is no easy feat. You have to do all of small town road backwards, without missing more than 1 checkpoint in a row. Assuming you use doublespeed near the start, you will easily lose control before you get past the Arc De Triumphs. If you can manage that, you are truly winner, and are deserve of trophy.

I completed this alone in 26m 09s and I can't submit it because it wasn't with a friend.

So I figured you know, seeing as I'm new and signed up to start with by getting WR in Big Rigs, I thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm MrDeeJayy. I was a developer for 1 year at Higher Dimensions Gaming, and currently I moderate their TTT server. I am 20 years old and am from Sydney NSW Australia.

I currently only speedrun Big Rigs, as it is an easy game to run and the fact that nobody else runs it.

I'm considering speedrunning other racing games, maybe even Red Faction Armageddon. (I know thats not a racing game lol)

I recommend picking something from your childhood, some game you used to play as a kid. Alternatively, you could run games that literally nobody else runs, like I did.
