lvl3 50/50 is a better speedrun IMO, that would at least have some decisions.
If anything is to be learned it is to make sure that you save your video locally while streaming? That has to be an option, no?
That's not the point now, is it. The point is that it's an "unfair" competition if a version at some point is allowed, but not at a later time. Especially if that version gives an advantage, as some of the beta-versions clearly do.
There is an easy fix though, that ensures a continued even playingfield: separate out beta-times into it's own category.
That's even worse, then records can be set that are artifcially hard to beat since you can't play that version anymore. Whatever versions have at some point been allowed to play, need to be allowed for the future.
Nether wood doesn't break faster than oak logs since 1.16.0.63. It's one of the reasons to play on older beta-versions. Also, world generation is better in early 1.16 beta-versions compared to the recent one. The ruined portals is key, in 1.16.0.58 they generate EVERYWHERE, I usually see at least 3 in the overworld during a run. Also, they generate with more Gold-blocks around them and often with several gold-blocks in the chest. If nothing else, having logs break at double speed in a beta-version will give you stacks of blocks for scaffolding in no time.
I don't see it as a big problem anymore after I installed the launcher so I can choose what beta-version to play. I see no reason to run anything other than 1.16.0.58, it's a big advantage compared to later versions.
Where? I've joined the discord, can't find.
I was thinking a setup like this one:
Wired connection to HDMI-input and keyboard/mouse. Shouldn't have delay.
People who play on phone, do they cast the screen to a monitor and connect a keyboard and mouse to the phone?
Are you allowed to play on PC to get a record on mobile though? That sounds cheaty to me, but whatever, if the rules say it's ok, I guess it's ok. Seems most logical to have a multiplayer-run in the category of the person with the "best" gear for the job so a run where 1 person is on mobile and one is on PC, it would automatically be put in the PC-category.
You have to show the settings of the world when it's created
It's not a big difference between the two, I just think it would be nice if they were in "agreement" with eachother when it comes to what is where on the page, so it's easier to navigate once you know the layout of one.
I think it would be a good idea to have parity with the java-version when it comes to the layout and where to find different runs and what they are named.
You need 1 round of trading sticks with 4 villagers to get the emeralds you need for enderpearls (as long as you get gold for unlocking the cleric). Making 4 fletching-tables would be faster than setting up this "glitch".
This is why I think it's so weird Beta-version-runs are allowed for PC. During the 1.16 beta's there have been versions that have been very overpowered when it comes to world-generation compared to how the finished product will be, that you could get records with in random-seed category. Even smaller things matter when it comes to how fast it's possible to do a run, like the fact that nether-type wood would break very fast in versions 1.16.0.61 and earlier, but now is as slow to break as overworld-wood. This alone could save a run about 3 minutes if the run is done with villager-trading for ender-pearls. Many examples like this.
okay, I just found it really odd that worldrecords suddenly got beaten by over 30 minutes on a beta-version
1.16 is a better speedrun-version though, it's not very "speedrunny" to trade sticks for emeralds with villagers for an hour. Just strange that it's allowed before it's an official release.
In the rules it states that you have to use the setting "experimental gameplay: off"
You get to play 1.16 beta-versions by setting this setting to "experimental gameplay: on", right?
Right now scoagogo and ICN_KLD have the top2 places in both any% glitchless set seed and any%glitchless random seed, playing in the beta.
According to the rules, these runs are not legit, am I right or am I wrong?
There is a rule for speedruns that reads:
Use Experimental Gameplay: OFF
There are currently several runs made in the 1.16 beta. You get that version of the game by setting experimental gameplay: ON
This is breaking the rules and should be removed, no?
