I have recently moved away from the area where the convention is so i still have a bunch of boardgames at my parents place not too far away from there :)
So who here is as bad as i am at speedrunning and want to do some blind or halfblind races, getting better as we do the game. :)
I dunno if this is the right place to ask. But are there any consoles where the accepted emulators are actually good enough for you to not have to worry about being at a disadvantage to the console runners? I mean for snes most emulated gameplay seems frowned upon by top players and the input delay can be noticeable (so I'm going to wait until i got a better snes and an everdrive+capture card, unless the wii vc or softmodded is widely accepted as a decent enough console for accurate runs). While FF1 on psp seems to be widely accepted and more played on the emulator (so i assume the psp emulator is more accurate). Or is it just because in this example (a turn based game) the input delay is not relevant enough?

What ps2 games do you own? Perhaps there's something that could be interesting to learn or something similar that we can find on pc :) I don't mind doing some research. My old ps2 is out of my reach for now.
Hello! Just joined this site, but have been looking at speedruns for like 4y now and finally decided that i wanted to start running/learning some games. Games that I'm looking to learn/try are Final fantasy (1 for psp), A link to the past, mega man x series, possibly pokémon, Diablo 2/3 and pretty much anything else that might seem fun to learn semi-casually (just bought momodora: Reverie under the moonlight). One at a time of course, just haven't decided on where to start, but these are games that i used to love, grew up with (although i haven't played all the X games but plan to!) and won't get tired of.
Don't think that i'll have a chance at becoming a pro at any game (like i suck at aiming/fluttering in yoshi's island but love to casual run it), but who knows if i might just find that one game where i will just rock the socks as i enjoy playing risky.
I will mostly be using emulator for non-pc games since i own pal versions and can't afford getting the jp versions or much else right now, and i find it easier to just stream emulator games (Could possibly set up to stream from my wii, ps3 or ps4 if needed)
I really want to find some new people like me, or people in learning to practice/learning/racing with, while chatting/talking on discord since i think it's more fun if you're two or more people bouncing ideas and questions. So if you're thinking about learning any of the games mentioned or something else, then just send me a mess and I might join you!

Hey Monkey! I've been thinking about learning to speedrun Final Fantasy 1 using a psp emulator.It's supposed to be one of the shorter runs, so if you want a practice buddy for that I can race and chat with while we stream and learn how to do the routes and tricks. I may not be the best gamer but I'm just learning for fun! Other FF games could of course be interesting as well (FFIX being my favorite and I've been thinking about getting the steam version) but they are much longer and require more dedication of course!
