Perhaps a team that checks quality assurance, and you submit level packs via Google Docs? The team could be as large or small as it need be. In the Google Doc, you have the user post all the level IDs and a short description of each of them. This could help pick out the best level packs since Google Docs is easy to manage...

It would be quite the long run, but I would also be interested to see it.

The computer I use has it built in.

I can get you the footage soon, but it may be a while. Until then, I understand that the Pi won't be used, yet.

I have a PC that can run video recording and splitting software, but not an emulator, hence why I use a Pi.

As for footage of loads, what parts do you need? Or do you need every load screen in the game?

Hello there. I have been wanting to run Sprash (Spyro Trifecta) but I recently encountered a problem. The only emulator available for me would be PcSx - Rearmed, although it isn't on the allowed emulators.

It is for use on the Raspberry Pi, and there isn't many options players could use to their advantage on the Pi.

It's using the latest version of RetroPie, which has tons of emulators for the Raspberry Pi, including PS1, with its emulator being PcSx - Rearmed.

Here is the source code for the emulator the Pi uses: https://github.com/notaz/pcsx_rearmed

The Pi 3 and 2 aren't very powerful, although they aren't very weak, either. The Pi 0 and 1 however may have a harder time emulating PS1.

The reason I wasn't very sure was because emulation usually refers to PC gaming, while this is using something different.

EDIT: Since I was planning on doing Sprash (Spyro Trifecta) I would also like Spyro 2 and 3 to use this emulator as well.

Hey. I was thinking about running Spyro Trifecta and I wanted to know if emulators are allowed. I like using a Raspberry Pi in case that was important.

Awesome! Well, good luck on your stream! Hope it goes well!

I will be able to stream, although I don't have any way to have a timer on-screen while streaming (it'll make sense once you see the stream), will that be okay? Will we be able to add a timer afterwards?

Wow, this looks really cool! I'll be sure to sign up!

Once again, good luck. I think personally I'll stick with the English versions as well, it just seems more natural to me.

Hello again, Mew. Yes, in a way, the game does change and can make an impact on your run. For example, the English version may have 100 characters of text in a section, meaning you're spending more time scrolling through. The Spanish version, however, may only have 75 characters of text, and can save you some time. Although you don't have to change the language of the game to get first place, it still can save you a bit of extra time... just know which one is "yes" and "no". ;)

While I don't know too much about regional discs, I do know for sure that you would have to buy a Japanese disc. Also, I'm sure there's one out there somewhere, just search on eBay or something similar.

Well, a run is only solo or co-op. IMO, there's only a slim few speedruns that can be both.

Texas, USARealHeroicGamer6 years ago

Yea, I was wondering this too. I was thinking either this game or NSMBW, both are some of my favorite Mario games, but I'm not sure if the difficulty on this game would be too much to handle for a first speedrun.

P.S. Mew, whichever game you decide to run, I wish you the best of luck!

Texas, USARealHeroicGamer6 years ago

Exactly. No toon just "randomly" follows another toon around for hours at a time, and "randomly" decides that they want to help them defeat cogs. I was also wondering if the mods watched it at all. If any mods out there are reading this (which if there isn't, that's just sad) then PLEASE move this run.

EDIT: I just checked and apparently, the 2:14 got first place in solo. No other times even went near this time. Whether this was a mistake or this is just someone wanting to cheat into first in solo, we really need some mods to move the run to co-op.

I completely agree. Miss Crumbly (the runner) is clearly being helped by Atoms.

It's a good idea to enter that part with the smaller Bowser with a propeller cap. Simply fly over him as soon as you regain control over Mario. Stomp on that little switch and get your "princess", then as Bowser comes back, jump just before he shoots a fireball so that it hits the wall behind you. Do this until you are able to get to the next wall or until you get close to the platform area. There, use the propeller cap again to skip past most of it.

Awesome! Thanks! I can't wait.

I have a request. I really enjoy this game and it's not as popular as I think it should be. May we please add more minigames? Perhaps adding the category first would encourage people to speedrun it. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks!

EDIT: One category would be obstacle course. It's a very popular game!
