Hi there. I've been watching speed runs for a long, long time. I love them for everything they're worth. I love their pursuit of trying to find every bit of strategy to save seconds, or even frames. I want to get involved now.

One game I'm very interested in getting involved with, is Super Mario Sunshine. But I've been doing some research, and I can't seem to find a definite answer of how to go about doing it.

  1. Can I use any wii, and then change the region code? Or does it need to be a Japanese-specific wii?
  2. What is a recommended video-capture device I can use that is decent quality at a decent price?
  3. Anything else I need, hardware wise, to get started?

One game I'm very interested in getting involved with, is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

But there's some questions I have.

a) Where do I buy a Japanese SNES? I can't seem to find anything reliable on Ebay/Amazon.

b) How would I go about capturing the video? Any suggestions?

c) Anything else to help get someone new started? Thanks everyone!
