A couple more verifiers should get added soon, but do remember also that you can post your times and things in the discord and still make them known. Also various people do top level runs of the game and never even submit their times to this leaderboard, so it isn't everything.

Yes I think so. If IGT wasn't the main timing method then it'd be more questionable, but as long as the game is the same without any extra features and etc. then it's good

There's spindash, so I don't think so, not on this leaderboard. Unless it's like the Switch version where you can turn spindash&dropdash off and otherwise it is emulated the same? But I can't find enough video footage of it.

It depends which emulator because only 2 are allowed on the leaderboard (See Rules tab). Emulator is good for practicing and learning with savestates at first though.

what does it look like? is the fps counter still solid? does disabling audio change it?

There is a timing to pause, just as you would finish walking, it's about a 3 frame window i think. It's helpful to look at lines in stones beneath your feet as a visual cue.

Make sure you are moving very slightly to the left before the zip starts, unlike standing still in SMS version. ?

Are you in the Discord? people will discuss it on #sonic-1 channel there, for sure. Generally, it'll be to do with doing 3 loop jumps as opposed to 2. (watch the vids' loops frame by frame on youtube (with < > keys))
