No problem. I also found it weird to end there but did not really question the logic behind the ruleset. Maybe this will motivate me to do some new runs :D
Regarding the question. Part of me wants to say "the last quest is where the campaign ends" but another screams that just mashing through another couple lines of dialog is boring way to end a run. So I don't really know. Sorry for being no help at all.
Oh, so that was a reason. I totally forgot that loading messes up in-game time. Whoops :D
Thank you very much. This will definitely make everything clearer and more accessible for running.
I finally tried my hand at running this game and will submit few runs soon.
However, I am running on KaM Steam version using the timer. And I've noticed huge differences in in-game time and the timer. (up to a few minutes) And in the guides you said that KaM Remake has 10% inaccuracy in it's timing. So my question is: should this be allowed? Or at least shouldn't there be a way to differentiate between sped-up version and not sped-up?
After all if you go with in-game KaM Remake timer then in an hour long mission you would have no idea which is actually quicker 1:00:00 in KaM Remake or 1:05:00 in KaM Steam + Timer. Not only that if you have two similar in-game times in KaM Reamake then you can't be certain which is quicker as you cannot tell just how much a timer is off.
Also another thing. I have never played KaM Remake but it seems to me it has some features that the original does not. Like filling your queue with single click. The speed-up, etc. Oh, searching what are the actual differences I saw this: http://www.kamremake.com/devblog/how-exactly-does-kam-remake-relate-to-tpr/ If I understand this right it means that KaM Remake does not have Siege Workshop from TPR, and it has something called Market.
Now, I don't think that's fair. Playing KaM Remake in speedrun seems to me a little like playing a modded version of Skyrim. Sure it can be faster. But that's not quite the point I think.
So tl;dr version: I don't think it's fair lumping KaM Remake with other versions of KaM without any way to differentiate between them. I think this should at least be considered in-game timer and not RT. Or do something like Super Metroid (where you have another column telling you a route used).
(Btw. I am also not sure how I feel about Steam version giving you possibility to build TPR buildings in TSK campaign, I don't remember however if original TPR allowed and I lost my disc long time ago. I think this should be addressed in rules.)
The last thing I want to ask is why is Loading banned? I mean in single level it makes less difference (though it would be nice to have possibility). Though in full game run? I don't think it would be possible without. Some strategies are so risky that not having possibility to load when you mess up would be run killer. And I find have no real argument against it.
Edit: Tiny bit of spell checking.
Hey, thank you:D Have fun playing it, it's really awesome game. And if you do just remember to save often as the game may seem straigthforward but playing casually it's quite challenging.
For the others I think of giving a Knights and Merchants a shot. It was my absolutely favourite game in childhood and I can easily imagine myself again spending some hours at it. That would definately be fun :D
Hey, my name is Lug0.
I intend to speedrun Gorky17. I'm not really good at this, and there is a video proof of that :D But I thought such a classic as Gorky deserve at least some recognition so I decided to do it anyway.
So I found few bugs, made a video and here I am writing this.
I would love if someone tried their hand at this game as again I think this is a great game, and there is a lot of room for improvement here. (My PB is about 10 min better but unfortunately I forgot to record it. Derp.)
