I'm not too far into it yet. But I dont think this will be a game we're gonna be able to really speed though as much as other games. So far with the musical scores - and not of interruptions - each scene takes up time.
Also, if you've not seen all the QTE trigger PSA videos, you're guaranteed losing time. So completing the game first is very necessary.
I tried missing the QTE for the scene with Daniel and Taylor running from her horror, but that just slowed everything down to a halt.
I've been going through and trying to find the best routes possible, and things sorta surprise me with what's important to do. I'm thinking that outside of mostly "Saying Nothing" and just running towards the end and not exploring, I think there's going to be a difference in approach.
I've not done the run as a suicide run, mostly cause I figured that you have to at least have OC survive. But I guess that's more of a question for the mods.
Well I know when it comes to streaming, everything - including Livesplit - take a lot to process. If I'm playing when not streaming, it works perfectly well. I'll definitely say its odd, by all means. do you have yours on a high setting - with locked 30-fps?
Hello Everyone!
I have found that when playing the game, the higher-level settings on graphics make a looooot of things look pretty choppy (I know, cause I had faced it myself). So from my brief testing, a good work around is using medium or lower settings for the graphics - thus lowering the processing that your computer needs to do to push everything out.
If anyone has other specifics, by all means list them out. But I figured that if you want to avoid your streams to look choppy - this is a pretty good first step.
I'd also not mind and help with the moderation as well. Especially being that I'll be still doing more runs and getting more accustomed to the flow of the game.
The Best I can offer is from whats in my run. But if you wanna follow that, then I will write it up! Just gimme some time to put aside to write it all down!
I mean, if it comes down to it, I might be willing to do one for Single player any%. I wanted to revisit the game again, but with co-op, so this might be a thing I could do.
Thanks for the assistance everyone! OBS sorta saves my skin with the submissions, now that I sorta know what I'm doing. But thank you for the ideas and I'll be sure to look into all of them!!
Great community all around! <3
Well I just finagled with OBS and just timed the raw footage XD and currently waiting for twitch to get it fully uploaded. I'll work out a better solution for the next run I do since I understand OBS more.
But still, thank you for the clarification! You guys have been very helpful with the whole thing. Soon enough you'll be seeing my submission ;)
So I'm new to SpeedRunning, and specifically want to do it with Dot hack (the new PS4 remaster). I have a twitch account connected to my PS4, and can set it up to my YouTube if needed.
I tried looking for solid answers before posting, but I guess I'm worried to do anything before I start. In the Rules for the PS4 Any%, it states to have a timer with the game.
Since I have no capture card or what have you, all I have are the above mentioned platform. Would this be enough for proof for when I do the game? I realize there's always a possibility of cheating for some runs, but I guess I want to make sure that I can do everything correct with the resources available.
(TL;DR) Would like to use twitch/youtube for evidence of speedrunning of a game, is this possible?
