It clearly displays your difficulty at the end when it asks if you want to save the clear game file. Arbitrary 10 seconds to show difficulty and mash buttons, right, buttons, right, then boss select is just silly. This was touched on in GQDs before as well as some known speedrunners in the past when they streamed.

Also, if anyone actually pays attention, you can see a clear difference between game difficulties during gameplay.

6 admins and only PMG run is verfied for Normal any% after 3 days? It takes all of 5 minutes to glance through runs to see if a run is legitmate or not.

Also, I have yet to do it in my runs but I agree with Iceless/CalebHart42. Timer should start on selecting first boss, not on selecting a difficulty.

1:41:08 for X-Com Ufo Defense Ironman(no save/scum/load) Veteran Difficulty

4:24:30 for X-Com Terror from the Deep Ironman(no save/scum/load) Veteran Difficulty

Uses OpenXcom for stability. Rules altered from vanilla: -hold control to force fire(you could still fire into walls and such in original, this just allows you to target through the wall instead of at the wall first) -psi ops/m.c. anytime(saves time that is otherwise nothing more than a snooze fest) NOTE: Never used in the Ufo Defense run -custom initial base(requires time to place, does not contain any extra facilities, only used for base defense missions if they ever occur)

  • 0 turn primed grenades explode on impact (works for both human AND aliens, only advantage is "faster" smoke placement

That's it. Didn't see the games on the list. Even though they are heavy RNG, speedrunning both titles is making the RNG work.

If you get great alien route spawns(very large ships/crafts with needed aliens to capture), a speedrunner HAS to capitalize on them with great battlescapes.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy! Hope to see others run the games as well.
