Hey everyone, is there actually an any%/100% route for this? Just found this childhood game again after years and I would be interested in doing some faster runs of this.

Thank you all for the answers! I am really interested into speedrunning SMB 1/2 and so I bought an american GC and the US versions of both games, I was lucky to immediately find them here in germany. I could have stayed with the PAL version but I think I have much better chances to improve myself with the most common game in speedrunning here and I must say, after playing through the story and comparing both that I like the NTSC version way more, I beat many levels with important clips etc way faster because they are sometimes so much harder in the PAL version. I hope my english is understandable. ^^

Are there tutorials for PAL runners? That's lame. :/ But thanks for the fast answer.

Also I got another question: How is it possible to play the story without cutscenes? I always see it in speedruns but I just don’t see how you do it.

a few months I discovered AGDQ (a little bit late..). I was faszinated especially by the Super Mario and Super Monkey Ball Runs. The only SMB game I ever played was the Touch & Roll version for the Nintendo DS ~10 years ago. Because it made so much fun to watch I immediately bought SMB2 (I think I will buy the first part also in the future) and started playing, even though the game is frustrating it makes much fun and at least I could finish the main story. xD Now what I wanted to ask: I get the feeling that something is different on my version. For example at the level "Flock" with the 60/61 frame and just holding up I immediately get pushed out the right side after the 2/3rd platform. Another example: At the last level (Created by) with the AV logo I watched Jcools tutorial for SMB2 on youtube. He said if you just hold straight up you will hit the button (he also showed it) but when I only hold up I don't hit it. These are two examples I remember well.

Do you know what the problem can be? Because there are many cool strats I want to try and can't because of that error. ? I don't know if it is helpful but I am from germany and so I use a PAL system and game. I hope someone can help me and sorry for my english.

As someone from germany I can tell you that the subtitles are not correct. :<
