Since the changing of FPS is possible through the in-game settings, only the in-game settings are allowed to change/cap the FPS. You can have a 3rd party programm running to Display your FPS during the run (Rivertuner, Steamoverlay, Nvidia, ...) but the change of FPS is only allowed in-game :)

Because the Route for HC and VoS is basicly the very same: You dont pick up anything, so you always run the very same line. U have the same weapon/inventory loadout,... Because the runs are basicly the same, there is only casual as the NG category. You can BTW run on VoS and also submit it to the board. Just expect it to be slower, but besides that, not any different from the other modes

I go with Nico here. The thing is, ppl dont even run the cat's that are already there. I highly doubt that a demo speedrun would change anything. Even a Pistol only category was in discussion. But as you might see, there is no PO in the board as well. Even tough it would be a fun category (imo) I highly doubt that ppl would run it. (Insert Sad Emoji)

I made a fun run with only Lemi and Baseknife on VoS. I upgraded my Lemi for this run, because if I didnt, then the whole run would rely way more on the baseknife than it already does. Superfun to run, except that you need to knife moreau anyways xD And its easier than I thought, but still quite a challange. Maybe gonna do a speedrun of it.

I mentioned it before: Handgun (lemi) + Knife only. For chris this means his pistol + karambit. So if u run out of handgun ammo, you can still use the knife, eradicating the need of the laser completely. This makes it possibke for evry difficulty, without any extra exceptions to be made.

How about a classic old challange? Handgun (Lemi) and Knife?

strange, because i can still see the video. I heard that mods needed to reject some runs, because they were not able to watch them, because of this same error. But its strange, because u still can see the video. Here i go with iiDynastyFTW. Best to go on the Village Discord, and contact the mod to clear this situation out :)

hmm... I quickly overflew the runs, and I could not see a reason for a rejection. What was the reason for the reject? There has to be a text right under ur run, explaining the reason. What did the moderator say? Maybe I missed something. Like i said, I just overflew and not watched it in detail.

Barrels are not allowed afaik. Shoot is always allowed aslong as you dont hit an enemy. Only thing where shoot to dmg is allowed, is for mifandas 60% spiritbomb. And only if u hit the ball. If u even strife her wings its reject, so be carefull. For the slimes on HC/VoS u use the karambit, what is a onehit for the walls and my prefered way to open them. On cas u might shoot with the sniper cause its faster than 4,5 slashes.

I uploaded a video, where i am talking about my latest run and the strats for this category i am using. I hope that this might encourage some ppl to also run this category cause it's really fun (at least to me) I apologize for my english, i am not used to talk in english, but i did my best to make it understandable. Maybe we get an own channel on the discord for No Duke, where we can freely discus some strats and post some stuff, but for now I hope this can make the start.

At the moment, ppl are running cat's that are not official, and this thread was opened to let those ppl know that they are all part of the speedrun community, not just the ones that are running the usual main cat's. What i would like to see is, if we cant have an official leaderboard atm (for obvious reasons), can we get some extra channels on the discord for those cat's? 100% has its own channel for example and also is not one of the main cat's. That would be nice so ppl can discus such HG only strats, or No Duke strats. Cause when u want to run those, there are simply no guides available, cause 95% is all about the main cat's on the discord. @Moderators Thank u in advance

kniferun: HC and VoS need duke to have the ammo needed. I dont know why ppl always think that they need the duke in VoS for any purpose and want some extra rules for that xD

If the type of bullets doesnt count for that, than the handcannon pz (shots sniper) can also be allowed. And if we start with that, we can also use the rocketpistol (looks like a handgun too) following this logic. For a category that is called Handgun Only, the weapons used shot use Handgun Bullets too (pure logic). I dont even get why ppl want such weapons anyways. Do u think its to hard without them? What exactly is ur intention of allowing such weapons in a category that's definition is in the name?

@avukamu it is, and yes it can be done as a speedrun too. (why wouldnt it be considered as such) As for No Duke runs, i sometimes read, ppl would like to be allowed to sell weapons. (at VoS) That should not be allowed honestly. Cause in this case it wouldnt be a no duke anymore, besides, it is not even needed to sell anything. Just map out a propper route and u'll fine. I made many runs by now and never bought or sell anything to duke, or made food.

I skiped the first sg to get the better one after dollhouse, and u need that. Otherwise u'll spent 30-40 minutes at moreau. And as u say, there is not enough ammo for either mag or gl to make them worth taking instead of the sg. I'm gonna upload a new vid once i made it sub 2:30. had another try yesterday with 2:30:20 :( I cant speak for cas, but at VoS u have to stick to first hg, 2nd sg and the sniper. otherwise u'll either lose too much time, or maybe softlock.

Quick guess, no they are not allowed. Only HG. And how would they solve the problem with Urias? All the nades/bangs in the game wouldnt be enough to shredd 60% hp of him xD

At Chris this follows, or at least could follow, the same special rules like knife only. KO allows the karambit for Hard/VoS. Not because it would be impossible, but the bosses would take an hour each, easily. But nevertheless they allowed it. The chris part on the other hand in HG only (VoS for this very case) is constructed just like the mutamyzed part in the village. No matter what u do, without the laser there is no way of getting further. For urias, it doesnt matter what u do. The game has not enough ammo for this fight to be made HG only. Thatswhy impossible, and thatswhy you would need an exceptionrule for higher difficultys just like the KO category has. In this case, the laser on urias can be used, but only 3 times. I know that cause i did it. All the ammo takes urias about 45% hp if mostly hit the weakspot. So after u emptied ur HG there is so much HP left (~55%) that 3 lasers (~60%dmg) can barely manage to take him down. This requires the usage of at least 90% of the available ammo and would make this part as much HG only as possible.

In category like those, mods should allow exception for the sake of possibility in certain difficulty. Thumb up if u agree
