I'm interested. Also interested in doing the Cooper's revenge and Helldorado, have you thought about doing those?
I'm not against you or with you now, everyone hates everyone in this community and it will stay like that.
I don't see hate in this community, not at all. Only few people seem to be carrying a load of hate with themselves but i don't think a few poisoned seeds make the whole community rotten in this case.

You see, there is a difference between hate-powered ranting and normal man-to-man discussion. Someone saying something, strictly or not, against someone else, does not make them haters right away. It doesn't make their opinion biased either, I believe most of the people here are completely out of bias in this case and would happily support Ilias' side in case something concrete was found and vice versa.

What makes this case harder is both Ilias and Kyle used quite powerful ways of argumentation, many of which tend to bring out strong, negative feelings. Instead of the feelings, the focus should be on the actual stuff that's going on, not the ways of argumentation also for the said two (Kyle and Ilias).

I still haven't seen any pastebins, videos or anything that actually prove Kyle is cheating. Saying "Kyle getting angry means he cheated" is just a silly, childish logic that doesn't have any truth-base. It's even more the other way round; if Kyle cheated and he was accused of it, he would have the best reasoning ever for all of the situations he was accused of cheating on.

This discussion, as so many other ones, does not (shouldn't) base itself on hate or love but instead, facts and knowledge. 'Nuff said. I don't believe Kyle cheats, feel free to prove me wrong.

ps. believe it or not, even cheaters need to be good to be able to perform stuff. Scripting RNG or not, having driving scripts or not, you need to be good at the stuff to be able to do it. I have seen cheaters and seen them caught, I have made TAS and seen it made, yet never seen anyone doing/done ANYTHING proper without actual skills.

I also think that it makes sense to divide 100% in two categories in the way Gael described it. First being the "actual" 100% where you do everything required for a casual 100% completion, the other one being "get to 100% in any way possible". Two ends of the stick or something equally poetic and cute. I also think an NG+ category adds to the leaderboards without taking anything from there.

Also, this stuff's not gonna get faster any faster than people find stuff for it. It may just become "do this thing 144 times in a row" or it may go completely the other way round over time, it doesn't really matter. I really liked Gaels run from my weird-ass point of view and I hope others are gonna go for it too.

The game getting stuck may be explained by loading times: every time you enter another island or area the game loads the new stuff to use. This is purely because the game is old and wants to save memory for other stuff. When this happens, there's going to be a loading screen while it loads the new areas. People running the game mostly use SSD or ramdisc or something similar to minimize the loading times, hence they are barely noticeable (check https:// youtu.be/2gzbpVQPfOc?t=2629, 43:49 as an example). In case this is not the problem, I'd recommend trying a no-cd version or purchasing the steam version.

You can use any version of the game you have bought, and as far as I have understood you can use any official version of it. A lot of people used the steam version as it was pretty much the same as the original cd version before the JP version thing came out.

Good luck with the runs, I hope you can get them running! :)

I think in either way it is more interesting to run the game on Hard rather than Standard or Moderate. Of course we can keep the so called Any% which allows any difficulty here, mostly being Standard. I also think that this game will never lack chances to cut time with such a huge amount of possibilities in build orders, micro, etc etc. Therefore Standard is not gonna be super boring either, also a more relaxed run compared to Hard, especially using the HD edition which seems to be having a way longer AI aggro distance.

IMO, as I have said on #AoM several times, we could just make categories for any difficulty runs and Hard/Hardest (on aoe1) both, the strats are so different from eachother in many of the ILs. Either way, if you complete a run on Hard mode only, IMO we should have a category for that.

In my opinion it would make sense to use RTA for all the running but for level runs the ingame timer seems to be well enough accurate so far and safes some effort from lazy people like me. This of course requires a no-pause rule and I would rather have a forced use of fast gamespeed.

However, in case I fulfilled my wet dream of running an entire game or at least one campaign as a whole, RTA might be the more reasonable way to.
