if you hit things like the hat or the treasure chest, the slots spin faster than if you hit things like the shell or the coin. then jump on the image before the one you're going for. just go for the slower spinning slots.

I'm not a mod, I just run lots of Mario Party games and I'm in charge of the Octathlon.

Some people were talking about doing a Decathlon and including Mario Parties 9 and 10, so I requested that those boards be examined and cleaned up because they were drastically different from the rest of the series.

The mods changed it because every other Mario Party has difficulty leaderboards when available. And they were trying to line everything up with the rest of the series.

With the Octathlon, people compete on "Normal" difficulty for every game. If people were to do a decathlon, and came to MP10, and did normal there, they would be at a disadvantage to the leaderboards where people run on easy.Or, 10 would be special, and it would seem out of place.

No runs are ever done with CPUs on different difficulties.

I think, when you look at the Mario Party series, the boards actually look cleaner now because they line up with the rest of the series. :)

The 8 games together without their systems would cost $300. Add in their systems and controllers, and you're spending about $450. Allowing emulators makes the run accessible for everyone. :-)

Yes, they're just hidden by default for all mario party games because times are very different between console and emulator. On the leaderboard, click filters > Emulators > Emulators Only (or Consoles and Emulators)

Hi, in my experience, there has been absolutely no differences between the different difficulties of Frightmare. Am I crazy? is there a reason for the multiple leaderboards for Frightmare?

Hi, all mario party games except 6 and 7 hide emus... do you think it makes sense to it them same across all games?

It's on this leaderboard because it IS a speedrun of multiple Mario games, even if they're not main series games. Mario Party does not have a leaderboard like this. Made more sense to add a category to an existing leaderboard rather than make a new leaderboard.

Only 1-8 were included because the Handheld games and Wii U games are hard (impossible?) to emulate. I'm not an emulator guy, so I don't know a lot about it, and Mario Party 9 was bad.

There would have had to be a completely new leaderboard made for just the Octathlon. Multiple Mario Games really was the best place for it. They are mario games after all. ;)

I don't think this counts... but there's nothing in the description about RNG manipulation for Beginner, so I'm not sure if I can submit it...
