Zimmycakes did some all items runs years ago and I took a crack at it in 2021. Since then I believe octopuscal did it on the Japanese version (Mother 2.) None of us used any glitches, but I think the only real useful thing you could do to save time would be using save and quit and routing out RNG manipulation for the rare drops. Otherwise it's still a hours of grinding with some glitches thrown in to save a few minutes here and there. Here's the VOD of the run I did if you're interested. Whatever you decide to do, it would be cool to see another person try this kind of run!

Hey everyone. I'm new to the SMB speedrun, and I thought I was getting the BBG messing around in my last stream. Turns out it was more like FPG with Mario jumping off the flag, but the flag never comes down. Is this common if your timing is off a little bit on the jump? I'm not at the level of working BBG into serious runs yet, but I'm curious for the future.
