Yeah I was just thinking it seemed a bit stupid really because it's very easy to put save files onto your memory card if you have access to ulaunchelf, which I think it's safe to say 99% of speedrunners on console most likely do. But the argument that not everyone on console has access to a gameshark is a bit weak since you could just as easily say that not all speedrunners have a PC fast enough to run PCSX2 reliably... It works both ways really.
can't really say it's worth the risk of being put on bleed, and I'd imagine if you wait for the lion to attack you, you'll just lose time. The chance that the lion hits you just as you use the emblem, is extremely small. Not a reliable glitch at all.
Stuff like this is why I've not even bothered submitting a time for anything for this game. Honestly the leaderboards are just meme worthy to me. I know adding a 10fps category is not being discussed, but the fact 10fps is even being discussed in general is just laughable and facepalm worthy. I know it won't happen, but I honestly hope Capcom fix all this stupid shit eventually so we can get back to just running the game properly without all this ridiculous FPS crap.
I still think it's just silly how you can beat all the bosses easily with the knife...
I actually wouldn't mind the knife, if it didn't completely negate the need to pick up ammo through the game. The game is essentially reduced to a corridor simulator. With a knifeless run, it will bring the game back to a more "true" experience, where you need to collect ammo and whatnot to be able to beat bosses.
Glad Capcom are finally taking measure to fix real issues and bugs with the game. Shame for those that do glitched runs, but at the end of the day, a bug is a bug, and if it can be fixed, it should be.
I am 100% for a no knife category, as I personally believe the knife shouldn't even be allowed in the glitchless category. Personally, I will only submit runs if there is a no knife category.
3DMigoto? What is this and how do you install it?
Suggestion: Color the HP of the enemy currently taking damage differently from the other enemies. The only issue I have so far is not being able to see at a glance how much HP the enemy im attacking has. I have to pause the game and then look closely at the table. Especially frustrating if there are 7 or 8 enemies in the room.
Well I have no idea how legit or "endorsed" the sourcenext version of RE2 is, but my personal vote for this chinese version of RE3 would definitely be no, if its not legally obtainable or endorsed by Capcom.
Doesn't RE2 sourcenext fall into the same catagory? lol
I'm all for merging catagories to clean the boards up. Merging PSP and PS3 is fine with me, as like previously stated, hardly anyone runs them anyway.
P.S. Every time I see that dabbing crap, I want to murder a kitten.
Thats unfortunate. That means its technically impossible to beat an emulated run on the official hardware. I'm very suprised it's alowed to be honest.
Since this forum is basically dead, I thought I'd make a post about something thats been bothering me.
So im in the process of speedrunning End of the road, and after watching a couple of other speedruns, I've noticed that people seem to somehow know what the keypad code is at the start, without checking the bloodstains. How?
I seriously hope it's not some external program that hooks into the emulator, to tell you the correct code every time. That, to me, is basically no different from cheating, as it isn't possible to do that on console (which is how I play)
Am I missing something?
Yeah, for example, in Resident Evil 2 on Gamecube, when you select "Leon Story" or "Claire Story" it usually brings up a message saying "Loading Leon's story" but on the japanese version, it just brings up a load of garbage characters because my PAL Gamecube does not support the japanese kanji.
It's more likely that your device isn't supported by Amarec TV. I used to get the same error with my Elgato (which I knew beforehand, wasn't supported)
im sure there are converters that will play US games at 60hz.
I agree. In the case of the Samson Meteor, it provides exactly the same quality as the Yeti, but at half the price. The only reason I have a Yeti is because my Meteor stopped working the day after I bought it, and didn't want to risk the same thing happening again somewhere down the line. So I just grabbed a Yeti for peace of mind.
