It's been removed. Not entirely sure how that got past me, but it did.
One already exists, link is here: https://discord.gg/aGpbpwM
This has been discussed in our discord (link in resources) and we decided that start jumping and corner cutting would be allowed in the pursuit of maximum speed for full game runs. This allows for certain skips to be used as well while staying well within the rules. I'm not very keen on adding another subcategory as we already have ~65 (this is unfortunately kind of the norm for racing game speedruns) and doing so splits the playerbase of the game down the middle. If you want to chat about this more, I'm more active in the discord than on the sr.com forums.
Edit: this doesn't mean that everything is set in stone, and your voice on the matter is much appreciated
Yep, that's fine so long as all of the races are done. This applies to any of the full game runs as well
So long as the game is visible, it counts as video proof. Your camera will be fine
Timing starts when you begin your first race, so you'll want to start the timer when you hit continue and line up on the grid
There's an option in one of the settings windows that lets you toggle weather, set that to clear and you won't get rain
You can use whatever difficulty or assists you want to. Entirely up to you
RTA (Real Time Attack) goes off of a stopwatch, IGT (In Game Time) uses the clock on the navigator. In RTA you'll use the truck recovery services to skip between cities, in IGT this is slower than just driving.
Yep, as soon as you cross the line you can stop time
Yep, full game runs are primarily RTA (races, loading, menus, etc are all timed), but you can add your sum of race times as IGT if you want. ILs use the time you're given at the end of the race/lap. Timing for RTA starts when you leave the main menu and start loading the first race
RTA is real-time attack, it basically means you run a stopwatch/timer and that is your final time. IGT is in-game time, this is the time passes according to your truck's dashboard. Different routes are run for both categories
Can we have separate categories for runs with in game cheats used please? I've already done a few runs of bad ending with them, link here: These will need to be DLC-enabled categories as the Executive Privilege pack is used to 100% powers, speeding up the route massively. Thanks :)
I'm looking at starting to run any%, but I hardly ever get the opportunity to sit down for 4+ hours. If I can prove that the same save file was used, and that I hadn't savescummed the second segment, would that be allowed? I was thinking something like correlating the autosave date between segments. The autosave would be overwritten if I was to continue further. I'm in no rush if this is something that needs to be discussed
Notice anything missing from the leaderboard? Spot a spelling mistake? Leave a reply and it will be dealt with by the mod/s
I may or may not have known it existed. I'll need to try it out to see if you make the time up from going to grab it, although I imagine it would be faster as you can beeline to wherever you need to go. Takes some of the car-ng out of the game too Thanks for the suggestion & support
I'll throw my hat into the ring on this one. I reckon it'd need a new category (something like: Bad Ending No DLC Extended Co-Op), as you'd be exceeding the number of players the game can handle naturally (I assume you'd be running it relay style or something similar).
If it needs a new category, mods will need to add it to the board, and put rules in place around how completed everyone's save files can be for the run (to stop the person on a new save being boosted by people with 100% completion, or allow it), how timing works (If the timer is paused in the menus when swapping people in/out) and all the other details. I'd get in touch with sellz90 as he seems to be the most active mod at the minute.
Also, shameless plug, feel free to get in touch with me if you want any help with the route, although it'll likely be quite different in co-op
Edit: I've never played the game in co-op, so excuse me if I don't entirely understand the nuances of it I'll also hijack this thread to say mods, can we have a leaderboard redesign to put Co-op/single player runs of the same category under the same menu a la how the platforms are done in the sm64 leaderboard? Then we shouldn't need misc categories. I'm more than happy to handle it if you lot don't want to, I'd just need a temp mod
Hiya, can one of the mods please add the prerelease tag to F1 2017. Thanks :)
