I recorded this months ago and never bothered to edit it together due to its low quality, but I'd really like to see this get some use. It pertains to the thread I made over a year ago about my new glitch discovery. Hopefully, being able to see it makes it easier to reproduce and more compelling to use.

I'd really like for FF/KD/MB timing to stop before the game overwrites the save file, as if the game is allowed to overwrite your save file it will take a while to set your file back up. Time should stop the instant you close the last textbox, and runners should be allowed to close the game immediately to avoid saving.

It's Malhalla (i had to check too) tame all monsters sounds pretty dumb All tablets and all rooms should both definitely exist All trophies should also be added. The only dumb trophy is the pet breeding one And we should at least have a 100% definition (all rooms, items, puzzles, recipes, monsters, complete tablets, complete islands, etc...) but I think it'll be a long time before someone runs it

It would be much better to time island IL stuff from fade-in. This allows you to attempt an IL repeatedly by loading your save

I was messing around in postgame Moonbrooke and suddenly started teleporting around while using the cape. I watched the entire world record vod and didn't see this glitch being used, so I assume it's not known. I don't understand it fully, but I've deduced the steps necessary to recreate the glitch:

1. While gliding, press your attack button to perform the landing attack. We already use this a lot to gain height.
2. Take note of the height your character was at when you pressed the attack button. During your attack's ascent, you must use the analog stick to steer your character over ground that is higher than the aforementioned height.
3. Pause the game before you start descending (OPTIONS button)

This basic version of the glitch will instantly teleport you ~4 blocks upward. It can go through thin ceilings if set up properly. More commonly, you'd use this to drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to climb up cliffs. You can even set up downwarps through thin floors by placing blocks above your head.

The exact displacement you receive is entirely dependent on the geometry of the cliff you're climbing. When near a ledge, you'll often be displaced ~1 block backwards on the frame after you unpause, making it hard to land. I found a spot at the docks in moonbrooke that gives me a double upwarp for about ~15 blocks of free, instantaneous height. Another good spot is in the wall of the other dock (on the way to the blue octahedral thing) to teleport on top of the crane instead of building up to it like the WR does.

My idea for an even longer category was all rooms. You simply do any% while also completing the room recipe list (no DLC required). The run would be interesting because you have to invent strategies to skip the bottomless pot upgrade (it takes way too fucking long to get 45 tablet targets) and also go out of your way to get recipes for rooms like the venerable bedroom and the banqueting hall.

It should, of course, be a priority to get basic ILs that people actually want to run on the board

i suppose the addition of this category sets that precedent; i'll talk about it with the other mods. Current spawn-giant record will likely never be beaten regardless due to giant changes
