I see a reason to divide Console and Emulator but because the game is not very played and no strategy uses the Disk feature (like MR2), Emulator and Console could be together on the rankings. Usually, it is divided into two categories when the game has A LOT of players, and Emulator won't actually provide any real benefit. That's just my opinion ofc :)
@CursedToast your argument is not valid. Even though LiveSplit is used to time games, it's not used to change how the game's engine works. Which would be the case with a 3rd party program to cap FPS.
Also if you think 60FPS are flip flops... welp, you would probably agree with me that real runners wear expensive shoes, therefore there shouldn't be a cap. Just going deeper on your analogy.
I see a reason to cap at any framerate that the game doesn't support by default but I don't agree with it. Speedrunning using 3rd party programs on the main category (as a requirement) is more about pushing the numbers even further and in my opinion and not because it's better for players - it's just unnecessary.
About the "bad/good" computer thing... You don't see people complaining about not being able to run Super Mario 64 on better engines, so they can have higher framerate and less lag - to achieve higher levels of time. If they do complain, they are mostly ignored anyway.
As to my final opinion atm: I think the cap should be 60fps, as it is the maximum the game support. It doesn't require the best computer ever and even if you don't achieve 60, you won't be punished too hard by the cutscene diff (although might be punished by the input lag and other stuff) but that's how the game is. I'm just against using 3rd party programs as a standard way to speedrun.
Today I was running Oni % on Casual and I was dropping every stone, triggered awaken 4 times on Sweep in like 5 minutes... I was really strong. But I did the mistake of starting to kill some mobs to level up faster... that's when I noticed that the enemies, especially the bosses, are getting way stronger than me. Then I decided to check on Freddeh's run and realized that your level indeed increases the power level of the bosses. Either that or something else that I missed.
I took by example the boss She-Who Embraces.

363 damage did less than 40% of what Freddeh's 162 damage did, in a HARDER difficulty.

I'd like to Request Moderation for Gretel And Hansel (https://www.speedrun.com/Gretel_and_Hansel#Any) for many reasons: 1st Moderator DrXdGamerpaulo has been away for 1 month+, tried to contact him on his YouTube (only way to contact him afaik) and he has been inactive for 3+ months there too. 2nd Both runs on Any% are timed wrong and differently (I would retime them) 3rd Rules aren't specified for Any% or 100% (there's an achievement that requires to shoot 200 times over many number of gameplays, which wasn't done on DrXdGamerpaulo's run - I agree that it's not needed because it would only slow down the game and it would require wiping data to be done in a single run) - I would add these Rules and set a defined Starting and Finishing point for both Categories (Start at the moment you click play for both categories and finish at the moment screen fades out on Any% and for 100%, at the moment you flip all medals and get the 100% achievement) I already did a few runs, going to record one now and submit it.

@Chimpaneez Not true, because you said that if someone wanted to run a different category that person would just have to submit the run, I did and you rejected. And I said on Discord as well that you rejected and didn't tried to contact me or add the category, which you said you'd do on Forums. New runners could certainly get discouraged by your behavior. I think it's also unfair that someone that doesn't care about the game and "don't want to have to discuss about new categories" is left in charge of the game. A lot of things are unfair and unfortunately, it probably won't ever change.
@Tron_Javolta a runner has found a new Clipping method recently and it's not consistent enough on PS4, and it saves around 15 minutes of the entire run.
I have been running Metro: Last Light REDUX for a while and the game has 2 moderators. 1 is busy, therefore can't Mod frequently and the other one doesn't run the game and don't seem to care about it as well.
As it's my favorite game, I asked him to make me a Mod too, for me to learn how to verify times and start Moderating as well. He said no, only because he wanted. I used to run on PC Any%. Most Wall clips are FPS dependant (more FPS> easier to clip) but my PC broke so now I'm playing on PS4, doing No Out of Bounds / Glitchless but that Category wasn't added to the Leaderboards. I started a discussion on game Discord so we could create that category, the active Moderator gave no attention to it. I ran the game, he rejected my run. (Run is around 40 minutes longer than Any% and different in every aspect)
I gave all the reasons why that category should be added (Different run duration, different strategies, different boss fights, loot has much more impact on the run than Any% and much more). I tried to message him on Discord and he said that he doesn't want to have discussion about this category because it's very subjective. He's a moderator, he needs to participate on this or at least help players with this. I'm a runner that care about the game, trying to have fun while Speedrunning. He's a moderator that doesn't run the game, don't want to discuss about new categories, trying to ruin my fun and possibly ruining future Metro: Last Light speedrunners fun as well.

Hey guys, I was thinking of adding some new categories to this game and MAYBE separate PS4 from PC because not only loading but upon dying, PS4 allows you to restart checkpoint by pressing Start, PC doesn't.
I was thinking of some categories. As the only runner played it on Spartan Hardcore, I propose to every category to be on Hardcore as well.
All Diary Pages (Ranger) Good Ending (Spartan) Knife Only¤ (there are parts impossible to beat using knife though)
