Hi. It's been a very long time since I made the leaderboard that I have enough knowledge on some regional differences until I look at your post.

Geez that is a lot of differences that I never heard off. In that case I have to make major changes and put those US/All versions separately (and also thinking 1st loop/2nd loop separately too even if the game doesn't ask you if you want to quit the game after finishing the 1st loop at Arcade version).

Since there only few people that submitted their run, I really don't have problems on resubmitting their runs which I can redo it myself. I'll see if I can finish it by tomorrow or so

So, it has been a very long time I look at the leaderboard and people tell me about this "You didn't enter enough players" problem at the leaderboard. Well, I look at the problem and it turns out I have to turn off "Exact Player Count" at the full category of All Stages.

Well, it is done. I might have to look at other CAVE leaderboard too cause src website had major changes towards leaderboards and the last time I fix CAVE leaderboards was years ago

Illinois, USAGhostly11 months ago

Yeah there is some problems when dealing with player subcategory. Also I am very inactive on looking at src website so I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

EDIT: the last time I fix the leaderboards including this one was years ago so the changes of leaderboards themselves from src was causing these problems (like not enough Player) to happen

EDIT2: It's done. You can try to submit your run and I also made a post about the issue/fix of what happen there

So I'm gonna remove misc categories for this game then.

I'll add Black Label (and maybe Black Label Arrange if there are anything major changes for the 1st loop) once I research it enough and see if the emulator for that game is working. I know both BL/BLA are in the XBOX360/PC version.

1st Loop for both 1cc and Continue should be the main focus for now.

EDIT: I also remove misc categories for all Cave games beside DaiFukkatsu that I moderated as I feel like it might be the same thing as 1st Loop and All Stages and it feels completely unnecessary for them to exist. It is too bad I shouldn't add these misc categories in the first place.

1st Loop: I'll probably gonna add accepted emulators like MAME (with the latest update).

I'll leave the defaults lives (3 for both bombs and lives) alone because of making sure the Arcade version stays the same with the number of lives at the beginning.

I'm not sure about the difficulty setting for the XBOX360/PC version. Maybe I'll set to default/Middle rather than Novice/Low or perhaps removing mentioning about the difficulty and only mention lives and bombs instead.

I'll leave the removed score runs rule alone as they are a lot different than doing a speedrun.

Misc: I probably feel like removing Novice and Arrange even though there are few runners that played XBOX360 or PC version. I know those two categories felt the same as 1st Loop with some minor changes and the dumb number of lives rule that I put there.

Well I try to erased all the words on the rules after I copy them to see if it works (that goes for other categories), go back to click View Rules, shows nothing. Then I paste the words back to the rules for all categories, go back to click View Rules, shows nothing again.

This never happens to me before as the last time I edited the rules for any game before PoDD is a month ago. I think it might be a bug or something.

Pretty quick question.

I'm editing rules for all categories on PoDD (https://www.speedrun.com/touhou_yumejikuu__phantasmagoria_of_dim.dream/full_game) because of a picture (to show the difficulty of the result screen) that I won't use it anymore. So when I'm finished, I check View rules and click it and it said: "No rules have been defined" rather than the rules I already edited.

Is there something wrong that I end up getting it?

If I made the decision about the iOS for all Cave Games, I will make a Twitlonger for that topic and put the link to the new thread in src

Illinois, USAGhostly5 years ago

I guess I have to delete the iOS version in the leaderboards then. I don't think anyone plays the iOS version except me so I might have to think on what to do with it soon

Hi. The only difference for this game in the iOS compare to PC at least for gameplay only is using touch screen and Boss HP nerfed a little bit (I think. Maybe I need to look into the game for some time). Using the touch screen makes it faster to control with a finger. Very useful to dodge bullets especially comparing on using arrow buttons for PC version.

I used to make a category for an iOS version only and separate the other versions like months ago. Unfortunately, because the only way to play the iOS version is by using the older version of iPad or iPhone, it seems that most people don't have it or unable to play it (probably because of the risk of trying to find a way of going back to the older version like downgrade for example) and I'm only one who still has it because of me using older iPad.

The only way I could do is removing iOS version entirely from all Cave games. But I think that would be unfair since getting a Cave game without an emulator or iOS version is hard especially Futari and Daioujou. So my option would be debatable. Still you could find a way to play the iOS version

It's true that dialogue skip in Replay is a lot faster than in RTA. To me, Replay is preferable because I always record my runs offline without Livesplit and I don't get annoyed of failing so many runs in Easy. So yeah I wouldn't mind if putting both real times and in-game time on the leaderboard.

Also, thanks pingval for the auto splitter in PoFV. It would be helpful for all runners. If auto splitter works, I'll use Livesplit and record it live for future runs.

EDIT: Sorry with a late reply. I didn't see this discussion until now since I been focusing on Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3.

Hiya! So I'm making this thread because there are some changes that I put in the rules and leaderboards for most games except Dodonpachi (I'm not a moderator for that game). The old thread that I made like a year ago was irrelevant so there is something I think you guys should look at the changes.

Anyway, I separate Continue (you can use continues in a run (putting more coins if using Arcade is okay because of getting more continues) and 1cc (no continues basically) apart just so anyone who can't get a 1cc run will put their run as Continue run instead. I saw some runners that were able to have 1cc runs though.

Since I got Mushihimesama and Dodonpachi DaiFukkatsu on PC, I was able to look at the two games and thus I add some details for Novice and Arrange. For Novice and Arrange, I put them as misc because Arcade doesn't have them.

I put a rule where you can set lives before starting the game in the option for Mushihimesama (XBOX360/PC) and Dodonpachi DaiFukkatsu (XBOX360/PC). This is for Novice by the way.

I took out the Best Ending category for both Dodonpachi games (it was there like a year ago before I decided to remove them) because I think it's unnecessary to put them in the leaderboards and besides I don't think anyone would be interested to speedrun it.

I probably leave versions alone unless some major things make the game fast not for scoring.

For score runs, I wouldn't let them get submitted because they are pointless for them to be in the leaderboards and they are usually very long for the game to be finished because of getting the highest score as possible.

Overall, for these changes, I think this should be good enough for now. I was able to put the runners time into the right categories while working on changing details for the leaderboards. Please let me know here if there are some questions you are concerned about the changes that I worked

Hiya. I would like to be a moderator in this game (https://www.speedrun.com/Phantasmagoria_of_Dim._Dream). So the problem about it is there is a mod that hasn't been active for 2 months ago and I'm waiting for my run (https://www.speedrun.com/Phantasmagoria_of_Dim._Dream/run/zpq785vy) to be verified like a month ago. I know he has a Youtube channel that I could communicate with but even if I did, the person would probably ignore it or doesn't seem to care about being a moderator.

Oh. I fully didn't see it then. In that case, you should stick of skipping treasures that cost less and take too long to get them.

Click the link if you want to discuss Hey! Pikmin for speedrunning.

Illinois, USAGhostly6 years ago

Not really. It's best to skip it. Also if you didn't realize it but you can revisit the Springs but only after clearing two areas (if that's how real time in the game work I think). For example, if you finish Area 3, you can revisit Spring 1 and 2. If you finish Area 5 you can revisit Spring 3 and 4. The Spring usually gives you 300 Sparkliums (400+ if you do really good).

Unless you can downgrade your phone just so you can go to back to a version that you can access, there are no other ways besides that option to play the games. I will keep it in case someone with an old version on their phone submits a run.

I use an AirServer which basically mirrors my iPhone to the PC and used OBS Studio as a way to record my iPhone. You can download the trial version (if it says that the trial expires, you can retry it and it will let you use it) if you want to record the iOS version of the game.
