Furthermore most setups wont even work because of the frame rate difference. Youre much better off playing on NTSC.

This is an important announcement for people that submit VC runs to our leaderboard:

We have known for a while that the amount of time it takes your Wii to reset can vary across different Wiis. After about a month of research we have found that the Wiis with fast resets are caused by homebrew apps installing unofficial versions of an IOS to the slot that OoT uses to start the game.

What this means is, from this point on, runs done on VC MUST have an official IOS version installed. If your wii resets faster than 13 seconds, it will not be verified.

All existing runs with the faster reset will remain on the leaderboard, as we just didn't have the knowledge to understand that Wiis with faster resets were caused by unofficial software.

I recommend that EVERYONE who runs on VC install this IOS version, even if you have a slow reset. This IOS 9 version is the fastest of the 6 official ones, so it would be best if there was a standardized version. The process to fix your IOS 9 doesn't take much time at all. Here is a video showing how to do it (I timestamped to the tutorial part):

Due to issues with enforcing the already existing emulator rules for top times, we are going to revise how we handle emulator runs.

Effective immediately, all emu times that are within 10% of the existing record will not be allowed on the leaderboards. In addition, emulator runs WILL be shown by default. No need to toggle them manually anymore.

This rule is being implemented because we want to make sure new players can use emulator to learn the game and be a part of the leaderboards. But we also want to ensure high level submissions occur on a fair and competitive platform, and emulator does not provide that. So as players who want to use the leaderboards improve beyond a certain point, console gameplay should become their focus.

To give an idea of what the 10% restriction looks like given the current records, emulator runs can’t be submitted with times better than these:

Any%: 18:52 100%: 4:35:48 No IM/WW: 1:23:36 AD: 1:28:40 MST: 2:06:18 Bug Limit: 3:42:27 Glitchless: 4:05:00 100% Glitchless: 6:21:05 No WW: 47:42 Ganonless: 35:30

These cutoffs are dynamic and change as records improve. These are just the cutoffs at the time of implementing this rule. The few existing submissions that are faster than the cutoffs will be removed. As records improve and the cutoff shifts with them, these removed runs can be resubmitted.

All of the remaining misc categories are being moved to the category extensions board, where the new emu rules DO NOT apply. Glitchless 100% was moved to the glitchless tab. The decision to move certain misc categories was discussed by SRC and ZSR mods. The decision was made purely based on activity. If a moved category gains activity in the future it can be moved back.

Alright I made a ton of changes to this leaderboard the last few days.

First off, categories added: Low% No IM/WW All Gold Skulls Glitchless All Songs (RBA) Beat Morpha as child Child dungeons (glitchless) Loach% Go Home and Die%

Second: I overhauled the whole board using sub categories

All Low% categories were moved into one board and are separated by sub categories All Gold Skulls and Glitchless All Gold Skulls were combined using sub categories All Songs, All Songs (No RBA), and Reverse Song Order were combined Beat Volvagia as Child and Beat Morpha as Child were combined under "Boss RTA (as Child)" Child Dungeons, Child Dungeons RBA, Child Dungeons Glitchless, and Child Dungeons as Adult were combined --I am currently in the process of trying to move normal child dungeons from the oot leaderboard to this one. Will ask the community how they feel on this.

There is interest in a beta quest leaderboard, but bq is so complex and has its own community, so I feel it should have its own page. I submitted for a bq page and will let the bq guys know how that goes.

100% Requires you to get the items from their source. In NSR you can use glitches like RBA, GIM, and duplicating to get the items, hence the name "No Source Requirement"

1. No there is no No IM/WW guide. The only really detailed video guide for oot is Zellys MST guide. However a lot of the tricks in MST are in No IM/WW. So you can still skip around that guide to find some useful things

2. No IM/WW is easier than MST and is definitely what I recommend you start with. With no im/ww you can choose how difficult you want to make it (skip boatskip, skip spriti hover, etc). At a higher level it is a difficult category but still great for beginners

3. No, No IM/WW is a great one to start with.

Japanese saves time over english purely because of text boxes. So the more text boxes in the category, the more it saves. For example, JP is estimated to save about 20 minutes in 100%.

To name a few N64 vs VC differences: N64 is more prone to lagging in certain areas. On VC that lag is reduced by a huge amount. N64 has a more sensitive analog stick which allows for more precision and easier ess. However you can still do precise inputs on vc, its just seen as "harder" N64 has the ability to play 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 versions of the game, opening up options with version exclusive glitches. VC is tied to version 1.2 VC has some console exclusive glitches like being able to use deku sticks as adult and do certain types of GIM

Theres really no reason to run on english though. Running on JP is the easiest time save out there. Unless you just don't want to get your homebrew working.

And its hard to tell what you mean by bad audio, but vc has slightly degraded audio. It's hard to hear though so most people don't notice it

Double check the rules for the empty categories and post any corrections here. I have no idea how max% adult works so I just guessed. Let me know what it should be.

nocturne no rba, child dungeons rba, all chests, max% child, max% adult, no doors and 20 hearts have been added.

As for king zora day, that was more of a challenge thing that people did once. Dont think people will regularly be running that. So I dont think theres a point of adding it here.

And in regards to moving categories that are on the main page here, many people have expressed that they would like that to happen. But I'm afraid I'm not willing to be the one to start that drama. If anyone is willing to bring it up with the community and get the OK to move some of the more misc categories here, Id be glad to do the work of moving them. So let me know if anyone does that.

Feel free to reply with a category you'd like to see on this leaderboard. It'd be nice if it was a category that had a few completed runs but this board is very relaxed. It'll probably get added.

Yes that's technically right, but you should just use 1.2. Makes everyone's life easier.

Jonas if there's a usb loaded run on here then feel free to bring it to my (or another mods) attention. If you are talking about Master Quest, then it is allowed for that.
