I'm very proud of this run. After my last record I decided my goal was a sub 40 with no major mistakes. My previous two records had mistakes in Bagan so I sat down and grinded him, I made a spreadsheet of attacks and their DPS and figured out that Body Slam is actually the fastest DPS. I had to grind a lot of runs to get here and while running for scientist I started going for riskier but faster strategies on Ghidorah and Mecha-Godzilla, Ghidorah was average in this run since he ran from me costing time but Mecha-Godzilla was very fast and clean here. Biollante and Battra went pretty well but I knew I was running against a very strong stage 5 gold so I didn't have high hopes going into stage 5. I ran into a UFO on the way up which was slow, but Mecha-Ghidorah came down to me which kind of evened that out. The fight wasn't quite as good as my previous run but it was still very solid, he awkwardly had 15 energy left at the end and I went for a safe tail whip instead of trying to punch and ram which from my practice can go wrong very easily. My Bagan practice really shined in the final split, and even through he guard broke twice I made no mistakes and my new strategy to go for Body Slam instead of Atomic Breath really shined here. I'm very happy with this and I don't know if I plan to push any farther. The luck required to get runs through on record pace is very demoralizing. My sum of best is 36:45 now however, and the fact that even one fewer UFO this run would have put me at sub 39 is kind of itchy in the brain.
